.2GT3 for a 2016 GT3/RS

We have to read between the lines a bit in regards to the MT/PDK speed/lap times thing...
"Not as much as you would think" is really an unclear statement...at least my English teacher in 1998 would have said so.
I do for one think we need a poll! I'll bet even a great driver or a pro will be .4-.5/mile slower in PDK Per lap. So, on a 2.5Mile course...1+seconds.

Relax.
The awesome, revered 997 4.0 had a ton of engine problems, some of them on their 3rd engine within 5000 miles.
Gally plugs, butterfly ingestion and other stuff...
Didnt hurt resale much ;-)
Mine had zero problems when I sold it with 7000 miles, all track.
Porsche was easy to deal with, recalled, replaced etc. just like they did and keep doing with the 991’s.
So all models have good and bad ones.

i used to worry a lot.
but when you get to as old as i, every year we have a gathering of friends from HS and college. every year less ppl attedn...
no they are not busy, they are dead.
after enough of your good freinds drop dead for no reason... u dont worry too much about the egines
they blow up. just fix it
the drive some more.
every porsche gen had issues. some are trans, somE ArE engine, .....
dont worry, after you own enough of them, nothing surprises me anymore. i now jjust leave one at the dealership. so i bring the next one i desgtroy to them and drive that one back.
i am with trakcar here. stop worrying
the .2 will eventually have issues.
u just have to wait for it.
but that didn't stop me from getting one.

Three Wheelin'
The only reason to choose a GT3 over an RS is: 1. If you prefer manual transmissions, 2. If you can't afford an RS or can't get an allocation, or 3. If you want something more low key.

perfect world:
997.2 RS for manual and analog fun
+
991 RS PDK modern

Personally I would opt for the .2GT3, but ONLY because of the manual. I buy all of my cars to drive; I love manual, I don't like the PDK (fully acknowledging the PDK is a better transmission). But if you just want to buy it as an investment or to show off to the country club set, RS will always be the answer.
