No judging - how many can properly drive a manual?

One of the instructors at PSDS (Sherman) says he still double clutches his MT car...just his habit from learning on a car in the days before synchro's

On the streets? Yeah, skip gears all the time. 6th to first as I come to a stop at a red light. I don't engine brake on the street

Drive manual? Yes. Proper heel/toe? No.

Thanks for the great tips. I find the rev matching a bit annoying because it can't be switched off while in most responsive throttle setting on my 991GTS. Is the GT3 any different? Or does Sports Plus mode equal rev matching?

I pretty much learned how to drive a manual on a 1960 B Model Mack with a duplex(like in the video) when I was 13/14(used to sneak it out of my dads warehouse when he wasn't around), and was pretty good at it, and can drive any tractor/tri-axle out there no matter what trans , but I can't heel/toe for sh*t. I can shift a pdk with the best of em though..lol

I’m pretty good at it.
For those who say impossible to be pdk quick. With some practice you can get close. Let’s let Leh Keen take us to school.

He is grinding the split pretty bad.
Yeah, I think he's trying to hard for the video and ripping through the gears, that trans is definitely not meant for shifting fast.

On the street, an easy double clutch first through neutral before selecting the gear. On the track always a heel/toe blip then left foot trail brake. Haven't ruined anything yet. The secret is to slightly err on the high side and your pit crew will think you are Walter Rorhl

This chap here, can. Apologies for the insipid music. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqREtbLe4sY
FWIW, I double de-clutch my 993 (singlemass flywheel) because it is smoother than just rev matching, sometimes with hnt. Road not track. Learned to drive a '67 Ford Anglia - without using clutch pedal, you soon get the rev changes right or graunch the box.
