I just checked the CARB website. A new list of approved Porsche was added yesterday -- unfortunately the list only covers Boxsters & Caymans. The wait continues for the GT3 Touring CARB approval (my car is a few days away from the Davisville port).

The new CARB approval is for the Cayman GTS and Boxster GTS (CARB issued a new executive order which superseded the one for the boxster/cayman that did not have the GTS on it).

Wow. Do they require a separate certification for every option package? Or are the changes to the GT3 engine significant enough with the touring option to warrant this?
Very strange.

My working theory is that Porsche figured out that the MPG was slightly better on the touring package (no wing = less drag and the gas guzzler tax is $1000 not $1700) even though none of the mechanicals changed and did a separate EPA approval which triggered the CARB review.

Note that the 911 Carrera T also has a separate approval too, but that makes at least some sense as it has the S gearing for the manual and the base engine so there was a mechanical change.

There is 100% truth to that. It is an abuse of power.

My car is now in Davisville -- who have you been calling at PCNA to try to get more information on the timing of CARB approval? I am sure I will get the same answer about "February 23rd" but they might as well know how many customers are concerned about this timing issue.

It doesn't matter how many customers are "concerned". It will happen when CARB says it happens.

Here we are on February 23rd and still no news. The posting of the CARB approval on the CARB website appears to be slightly delayed (by a few days) for all of the prior approvals.
