No info from PCNA? You'd think they'd be getting you as much info as possible.

I called and they donít care. I will call on Monday if CARB approval does not arrive on 2/5. I am already shopping for an RS and I have told my dealer we are going to do PEC ATL.

PS meanwhile I have been driving my VW TDI, I was going to give it back to get the $20k, but I think I will keep it I fixed and let VAG eat the $50k fine.

Please let us know what you find out. I may call them as well, although they've known less then my dealer on previous calls.

FWIW, more then any other car, I regret selling my VW TDI. It was an older one ('03), but such a fun, economical car. I would get 50 MPG if I tried, plus could run Bio-diesl fuel, which added power and smelled good.

This would be beyond frustrating. I don't really understand it and what CARB means but obvious its a complete ***** up by someone.

CARB = California Air Resources Board. It's a secondary emissions certification after the EPA certification. The fact that the Touring needs it's own certification over the regular GT3 makes no sense. It would be the same as requiring separate certifications on all the different rear spoilers available on 911's.

Have the vehicles been released by CARB yet?

No, and I can’t make this up, Porsche says ... it will be “two weeks.”

Yes, two weeks are up, and it is another “two weeks.”

Two weeks!

On the plus side, my SA found me a chrome dealer plate surround to go with my chrome touring. Brand new even though they have not used chrome ones in years.

Its the least that they could do. If you can do personalised plates over there, get some "CARBF3"

Thanks for the info on the CARB approval process for the Touring. My GT3 Touring is on its way -- the vessel it is on (Viking Queen) is scheduled to arrive at the Davisville port on February 18th. Hopefully CARB approval will come in by February 23rd.....

One PCNA employee told my dealer that approval is expected "around" 2/23. As stated in another post.
