Default 991.2 GT3 track alignment

the 991.2 GT3's have been arriving for some time now, and though I'm not sure how many of the new owners are track rats like me, surely there must be some people who have a track dedicated 991.2 GT3. If not, I guess I can always bump this up at a later date when I actually have the car in hand and the snows have melted. This is for DE prep, not full race prep. I'm not THAT crazy.

I am guessing a camber of -1.5 to -2 both front and rear, a medium stiff setting for the front roll bar, and a full stiff for the rear? Toe and caster unchanged?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

There will be a few new ones with fresh setups at Sebring in 3 weeks. Curious to see what the differences are compared to the .1's.

I'll have mine on track Jan 20th... curious to see how much front camber can be had stock. Guessing we'll be lucky to get 2 degrees front?

Best Regards,
Dave

134 hits, and not one with settings. Maybe too early to ask, or is everyone so far a garage queen?

Sub. I'm interested in what numbers can be reached with stock suspension. I'd imagine we will see a lot more info in the spring.

Be interested to see if there's a difference between the .1 and .2. Fine line between getting the set up balanced between improved track performance and street use. I track the car regularly but not a fan of having a car that wonders around on the street due to an aggressive set up. We all know its important to get it corner balanced as the factory set ups can be a little wacky. Can't wait to get it in garage and dialed in!

I've had mine on track 2 times with stock alignment which I didn't fancy. It is wintertime now where I live. Come spring I will take it to reputable raceshop for alignment / geometry tune. Subscribed to this thread.

I will have mine at COTA Jan 28th with Chin. I am waiting on my guy at Porsche Plano to return from Germany on Jan.2 for a track alignment. We replicate my .1 settings to start and measure tire wear. The cars already handle really well; just need to dial in camber up to a point to even out wear on track.

I would leave the suspension setup alone to see how you like it stock prior to making any adjustments.

Also, I highly doubt the 991.2 suspension is any different from the 991.1. 991.2 gets revised lights, PCM, aero, and motor. Nothing was said about suspension geometry.

Per Porsche GT3 Driving on the Race Circuit manual page 5, "the basic factory setting is suitable both for driving on public roads and for driving on the race circuits."

Dampers, springs, and tuning are new, but geometry is probably same or similar.

@palting
for what its worth
ive done 10 laps nurburgring, 1 trackday gelleråsen sweden (short day not many laps) 1 slalom and 1 exclusive day kinnekullering with race professional Andreas Wernersson. I did about 40 laps that day, he did a number w my car.
conclusion;
what an amazing car. Engine, pdk-s, brakes, unbelievable,
But, it definitely understeers, this needs to be remedied.
Ps, andreas was very curious what it would be like to have slicks on the .2gt3!

Understeer may need a new alignment to eliminate, but the first thing to try (for free) is changing the swaybar droplink holes. Could go soft front and/or stiff rear and see where you land...

My experience with 911's is that they respond to bar changes better than my GT4 did...

Use a hole that lengthens the bar for softening and shortens it for stiffening.
