Default 991.2 GT3 Oil change Looks to be Easier than .1

Have the day off from work and decided to poke around under the car in preparation for my 1,000 mile oil change (currently at 778 miles). I noticed a few things that I think are different (and improved) from .1, though I've only seen pictures on this board.

Things I think I noticed:

1. Taking off the under-tray/diffuser was no problem (no pins to drive through - just unscrew 11 T30 bolts and pull (the rubber grommets seemed to stick a little to their mounts - not sure if there was some very light adhesive, but came off cleanly with a little tug).

2. It was very easy to access the oil filter with the Hazet tool (2169-10) and looks to be no problem even to get a torque wrench on it (I heard this was impossible with .1) - I just need to get a shorter 3/8" extension

3. The rear oil sump (not tank) drain was very accessible - no need at all for a stubby Allen wrench (8mm) like .1 - should be able to get torque wrench on that as well.

4. I think the front sump drain has been relocated. Looks like it may have been replaced with a new 10mm plug right on the bottom of the engine. If true, Suncoast sent me the wrong part and this is super easy to access with torque wrench.

5. Oil tank drain plug is very easy to get a torque wrench on (I guess it always was before too).

I'll try to upload a few photos next...

Get a torque wrench on the oil filter? Is that a new bottom drain plug above and right of the "E" in PORSCHE of the cross member (second pic)?

Look how much room for a wrench on the rear Drain Plug now (Stubby Allen inserted but not even close to necessary):

Is this the new bottom drain plug (Also visible in first wider pic)?? Right near where sump connects to oil tank. Allen size is much bigger than 8mm (maybe 10mm). The other fitting to the left is one of the threaded inserts that holds on the under-tray/diffuser.

Should be able to get this socket through a ratcheting box wrench (or ring attachment for my Stahlwille torque wrench)

Very cool! Love hearing about these little tidbits. Is there a reason why both plugs need to be removed vs just the one near the rear?

People were claiming to get more oil out when removing 2 plugs with the .1 here:

Love all the help and detailed pictures we get from other RL members. Was planning on going through this myself as well. Had some doubts, but this makes it look easy even for a "rookie car DIY-er". Thanks!

Here is proof that it's easy to get a torque wrench on the oil filter now (2" long wobble extension 3/8"):

Grant
I suggest using a band clamp for the oil filter, I know, no way to torque it but filters have been changed for a lifetime without torquing them. A short allen is handy for those hard to get to plugs. I bought the crush rings in bulk from Paragon.

I’m sure it’s no big deal to torque by feel for most of us with some experience wrenching. But I’m just OCD enough to prefer using a torque wrench and with the .2 it’s easy to do now on filter and plugs...

FWIW i watched my mechanic at my local Porsche dealer change the oil on my 2016 gt3 , and he said they only remove one drain plug

also thought I read or was told they improved the ultra sensitive the electronic oil measuring gauge , anyone confirm ?
