Cancel 991.2 GT3 to keep 991.1?

My route would be this.
Take the PTS and give the 991.1 to the Wife and tell her you would like her to join your hobby. When she figures out She does not like it then sell the .1. If She does like it even better. But - PDK to PDK I do understand the argument. Forking out another $40,000-$50,000 not chump change but i still think depreciation will be quite less than .1 even with the extended warranty.
If no go, still get it and arrange a private sale to a Rennlister. I would certainly not surrender a PTS .2 but understand that it may also **** off your Dealer if they found out

OP, I can only imagine .2 greatness but I'm sure .1's performance couldn't be too far behind. If a woman is involved that kind of changes perspectives and only you would know what you can get away with. Keep the the .1 and the your woman. .2s will only get cheaper.

Is this really true? I've heard this a few times now and I would have thought that in a PDK GT3, the millisecond shifts would exacerbate the effect of the higher torque and make the .2 feel much much faster than the .1. I know it won't feel like the monster torque in a turbo but I thought the difference would be more noticeable and pronounced in the .2 GT3. This is somewhat disappointing to me, my initial interest in the .2 GT3 was due to (1) the reworked Motorsport engine and (2) the increased mid-range torque!

Women do complicate things, since the beginning of time.

Everyone gets to make their own decision. No right or wrong answer. Just personal choice.
For ME, I think the .2 has far too little improvement over the .1 to justify the cost of the upgrade. The chief benefits of the .2 are:
1. 5% more power. Headers take care of that.
2. Manual - I don't want it.
3. Apple CarPlay. I don't need it.
The long warranty of the .1 is also a big bonus. My car's engine will still be covered for 3 more years when the 2018's are out of warranty. If they make the car through 2020 my engine will still have warranty when the .2's expire. Not insignificant IMO. I think I can get around $130k for mine. A comparably spec'd .2 is $180k (excluding ADM). To me, the .2 is not worth spending $50k more, not when a $7k set of headers erases the main difference. And when my engine does give up the ghost at some point, the new engine will be just as reliable as the new .2 engine, unless those recent posts about .2 engines blowing up are true. Hoping that is not the case! Nobody wants to live through that drama again!
Waiting for the 992 to see what it has to offer. We'll see.

Additional 25 HP and 19 FT LBS, translates to very little in performance to be honest. In a straight line the .2 got there a tick faster in both 0-60 and quarter mile. More noticeably on the track is faster exit speeds on slower turns. I'm not good enough to wring out any more performance from the .2.
