Cancel 991.2 GT3 to keep 991.1?
#32
Da Fukc.... give it to me, I'll buy it @msrp. Landing a PTS is already super hard enough as it is...
A PTS GT3.2 over ANY GT3.1 all day everyday. Eff the haircut, I don't care if they shave my head too...
Stop typing and pull that trigger.

You may not want the 991.2 GT3 because it's not a huge upgrade, but you may want a future GT3, and given the allocation games involved in that I would suggest you take delivery at the very least, if you choose to stay with the .1 and ditch the .2 then have your OPC arrange the sale, at the very least it's a break-even sale and your OPC will like you for making them money twice increasing your chances of getting the next GT car you do want.

Everyone gets to make their own decision. No right or wrong answer. Just personal choice.
For ME, I think the .2 has far too little improvement over the .1 to justify the cost of the upgrade. The chief benefits of the .2 are:
1. 5% more power. Headers take care of that.
2. Manual - I don't want it.
3. Apple CarPlay. I don't need it.
The long warranty of the .1 is also a big bonus. My car's engine will still be covered for 3 more years when the 2018's are out of warranty. If they make the car through 2020 my engine will still have warranty when the .2's expire. Not insignificant IMO. I think I can get around $130k for mine. A comparably spec'd .2 is $180k (excluding ADM). To me, the .2 is not worth spending $50k more, not when a $7k set of headers erases the main difference. And when my engine does give up the ghost at some point, the new engine will be just as reliable as the new .2 engine, unless those recent posts about .2 engines blowing up are true. Hoping that is not the case! Nobody wants to live through that drama again!
Waiting for the 992 to see what it has to offer. We'll see.

The only reason I see the keep it is, if you really love the car as setup, and the extra little changes don't bring any value to you from a track standpoint because you may be in a similar discussion when the 992.x comes out and it just that little better as well.

As a fellow Wisconsonite I say sell it to me. Just kidding. I say get it though. Life is short and everyone could use a little Irish Green

Seven southern Californian dealerships simultaneously emailed me stating they have a 991.2RS at MSRP. PAG decided to release only 7 units, all in manual, all in PTS bondo, with the hood signed by Obama (they did not specify which Obama).
Edit, while I was typing this, two more dealerships sent a carrier pigeon and steed with a scroll stating that I can name my price for every current and future GT car.
What should I do?
By the way, my favorite color is pizza, if that is relevant or helpful to your advice.

I am thinking of canceling my 991.2 order, now that the 991.1 has the 10yr/120. I initially ordered because of concerns of engine longevity. But now thanks to Robmypro and COG my engine concerns are gone. My current car is already set up for the track. I can't justify taking a loss on 991.1 just to set it up a 991.2 again. Crazy?

If money is no issue but the lady is in the way: get the new one and tell the lady you just wrapped the car.
Or tell the lady engine replacement will be $60-80K, which is not covered by any type of warranty. I assume she is not on rennlist?
I'm also wondering, how many of the people, who keep saying 'the improvement does not worth the $$', have actually driven the 991.2 GT3?
or is such statement purely based on stats and YouTube? I'm saying this because from what I read in this forum, the lucky early .2 GT3 owners' feedback has been very positive.

PDK to PDK, not enough to upgrade. Yes, just flogged both my '16 then immediately into a .2, and slightly more pull from 3500 to 6000 rpm. Would only make
sense if the manual choice is in play. There is a cleaning lady at this last event that mentioned Porsche is considering a more track focused exhaust as an option for the next gen GT3.

PDK to PDK, not much of an upgrade. Figure you sell your .1 for 120k maybe (not sure of spec) 50k for the extra enjoyment of the new one worth it? Me, I would trade it in if I had to just because I would not want to bail on an MSRP allocation, but I tend to keep cars a long time so I would keep both and I don’t have a wife (I have a GF who does not seem to mind me big buying expensive stuff while at the same time pointing out that one type of coffee was 1.5 cents less an ounce at Walmart).
