Their website says “non-competition” events. I wonder if theopentrack will cover events such as SCCA Time trials. I suppose that’s competition and even though not direct on track, driver competition.

Send them an email - they are very responsive and you'll probably get a quick answer.

For you all tracking your gt3s and RSs this frequently or almost exclusively, do you keep full coverage regular insurance as well? I bought my gt3 with intenions of mostly street driving with occasional track use, but I now actually use it in the exact opposite fashion. I have full coverage on the road but nothing at the track and I basically only road-drive to the track with few exceptions. I don’t go over 8/10ths on the track though I would say. Is there any company that offers both track and limited road use coverage at a better rate for this kind of usage?

Just called these guys. They seem very reasonable and they just bumped their maximum coverage from $150K to $175K.
They will NOT cover you for events in Canada so I didn't go with them. I take the wife and kids up to Le Circuit Mont Tremblant every year for a great track experience combined with a nice family vacation. They also have a 10% deductible.

I went with theOpentrack coverage.
As mentioned previously, if you do at least 6 events per year then theOpentrack is who you want to go with. They also let me add my Scuderia for a one time fee of $150.00 and cover me in Canada for a one time fee of $500.00

Yes. I put in into "storage" during the winter(only theft/fire while it sits in the garage) then put in back to regular coverage when Im actually driving it. You would need at least liability, and the comp/collision isn't super spendy so worth it there as well IMO

The “frequently asked questions” portion of the website said non-time trial. Should’ve read through it more thoroughly. I wish I had the time to squeeze in 8 or 9 DE events per year. Likely just stay with paying per event.

+1 on theOpenTrack. Jerod and Ben are absolutely fantastic and have been amazing to work with. I carry $200K agreed on my 2011 GT3RS. Policy covers entire year, unlimited events, including Canada (I go to Tremblant quite a bit, but also Mosport and Calabogie). Yes, makes most sense if doing at least 6 events a year (I should be doing like 15). Can’t say enough about the easy of this coverage or the guys running the operation. First class...

Do the ‘Opentrack’ guys cover single weekend events or only annual policies? I sent an email but haven’t heard back yet.

I believe theOpentrack coverage is offered exclusively as annual policies. The math usually works if you do more than 6 events per year.

I heard from Jerod and they are going to have a single weekend policy available soon. Also a multiple event policy, (3-5?) for those of us who don’t spend more time than that at the track.
