Bingo, doors closed and the engine running...the FAL should work then.

Another great tip for a problem that I didn't know I had. No more nose up posture during garage time. Was leaving it up for the same reason as Quikag.
Thanks all for the input.

I wonder whether the manual says not to store the car in the "up" position because it's bad for the lifting mechanism or whether Porsche is concerned about the legal liability of having someone or something crushed under the car as it loses its pressure over time?

As I understand the manual, I believe it's the latter. "There is a risk of damage if the front end is lowered in an uncontrolled manner...…...the raised position cannot be maintained for an extended period. The vehicle must always be lowered before it is switched off".

It does take a while for it to "spontaneously" deflate, as I have to admit I have erroneously left it elevated and still find it elevated several weeks later.

Ok, no Viagra jokes, now

I'll go to the manual for any answers, but hit up RL if I want a more detailed reason why.

The only manual I read from cover to cover is my iPhone manual

At PFF forum, a GT2 RS owner kept in the upper position and parked in a metal garage saver ramp.
Later he found out that the car went to lower over time and the spoiler took the form of the metal stopper under it. Not a good experience.

Is it really too much to hope that a Porsche engineer who worked on the system chimes in to settle whether this is a legal or engineering directive?
Rennlist is so lame sometimes.

I had thought FAL was essential but now have 2 cars w/o and have had no problems. $3500 on RS got over the top.

Yes. You must be an engineer.
