Default Rear Lift Point

Anyone know if it is safe to lift from that cross bar?

Thanks in advance

Oh....it's my 991 GT3. I'm trying to put it up on jack stands. I know...get the JackPoints, but they are back ordered.

I already have Jackpoints, but also curious if there is a central lift point in the rear - this can be useful. I assume it's not wise to place a jack under the engine (after removing protection plate and inserting a hockey puck), as was commonly done in the air-cooled days...

on the 991.1 you can lift it by the fins in the middle of the engine plate cover. don't know about the .2 since the engine cover is has no holes.

That's a crossmember directly bolted to the chassis. I don't see any reason to not use it.

My thoughts exactly...until I started wondering if it was aluminum and could potentially buckle right in the middle as I lifted.

I think I'm going to stick with lifting at the chassis point where the lower control arm and that cross member meets...or just directly under the rear tire.

My e92 M3 was much easier to get off the ground.

For anyone interested, I wound up getting the car off the ground by lift underneath the rear tires. Worked great.
