Most options don't add value at resale.

Then what...flip .2 for 35k over?

Who cares where the prices will be. When I started to make money, I got myself a CLS63 AMG and lost 40k in 2 years. Didn't give a ****. Now, GT Porsche buying has been an economics debate. Hope this craze goes away soon. You buy a car, you enjoy, you lose money. That should be expected. I wish GT3 had horrible resale, so only people who really want it would buy it.

Thanks! No regrets about the AMG. It was insane (670hp to the wheels and 800 lbs/ft torque). I told my track rat friend you can not floor this car, it is scary. He laughed, until he came back after a drive saying "no sheet" with a big grin on his face.

Edit: All that power gets old quickly though!

Dealer is offering sticker for .2 and charging 10k over for RS. My friend would have to pay the 35k difference.

I sold my 991 GT3 RS (riviera blue) and just recently got the 991.2 GT3 (white). Both are great cars. The only thing the RS is better in is the front grip. But the new engine is way more refined. And my cars see only about 15% track time. So the new one suits me better with the improved engine, PCM, Bose, ... And as the .2 will get the full Manthey Racing setup it will even perform better around the Ring. And I didn´t want to wait for the .2 RS to arrive in fall 2018. Best decision so far. And for the 35k difference a got myself a nice watch ;-)

It´s really up to your own preferences.

Interesting. Most GT owners have always liked the mechanical noises and clattering. Part of the character of a GT car. Now the .2 is more refined and preferred? I guess to each their own. I love the mechanical noises of the .1RS.

No wrong or right choice I guess. It's what you prefer.

With refined i meant the the improved oil system and higher mid range torque. I do miss the unique noises of the RS. But compared the .2 GT3 is the better car for my useage.

The RS engine never had any problems. The 3.8 is the one that needed refining. The R/RS had the issues handled.

Zactly. Interesting now that they have taken out some of the character of the mechanical noises and chattering having been engineered out this may be a classic GT characteristic that may make the .1RS more desirable.

In my humble opinion, I think PDK-S brought to much refinement to the .1 GT3/RS. The more desirable will be the .2 GT3/T with a Manual and, of course, the .2 RS because some think it will be the swan song for the RS before going FI. If they offer a Manual option for the RS the demand would be beyond stupid- which will be stupid anyway. And for those that believe that very few people would want a Manual in an RS you are very wrong. And then 8-10 years later the RS Manual cars will fetch greater values than the PDK-S iterations

bingo. My dealer told me they are going to build a ton of GT3s and offered me one...and I have little interest.

any ideas on 991.2rs pricing? Same dealer was thinking close to 200k base.
