Did 100 miles in my Spyder yesterday in my LWBs and was reminded why I'd never spec another Porsche without them.

I can’t believe according to the poll no one has spec’d lava orange yet. there is only one yellow.

The agate grey is an interesting choice that I’ve been thinking about. Are those going with agate doing touring black or silver ?

Pussman 01-01-2018 12:05 PM

I went with Agate for my Touring. I liked the idea of a darker colour to contrast with the chrome logo and trim.

Does anyone on here have one delivered yet please? I am in the UK and should get mine mid February. Fingers crossed.

Did you go with the Silver wheels??

Pussman 01-01-2018 12:21 PM

Yes went with the standard silver wheels and extra leather. I had the grey wheels on the 991 GT3 1 I had until last year. Thought it looked awesome with the PCCB’s but I think silver suits the Touring look better. Was very tempted with GT Silver but I have another silver 911 so wanted something different.

^ Nice build. Going to look awesome.

What is most surprising about this poll to me is so few white. With the 911R being white and white being the most popular GT3 color (combining. White and CWM) I would have thought we would have seen more orders.

As far as I know, no Touring's delivered yet in the US. Mine was the first one built for NA and should arrive here in the San Francisco area this week. Once it's here, it won't be delivered to the dealer until it receives the CARB (California Air Recourses Board) certification. I'm told this could take up to a month.

Please pose some photos when it arrives. None in the UK until February onwards as far as I am aware. Which color did you choose?

I’m in SF in January so might ask for a look if you don’t mind.

Could it be that part of the appeal of the Touring is its understated character. Lava Orange doesn't really fly under the radar. Could explain the lack of Miami Blue as well and the high number of classic colors.

For those that didnt see it in the other thread. A Touring doing a hard launch. Some discussion in that thread about it having launch control.

Of course the touring has launch control since the GT3 in manual has launch control

It looks like us Australians have been delayed by a few weeks as well. With the US Carb issue, looks like either our European friends might be the only ones able to post "owners pics" for a few weeks yet....

In the meantime NS2 media, are you allowed to share a few of your oakgreen rendering ? Kudos to owner #Oakgrunmetallic ... not sure if a rennlister ?

adding the poll poll was a great idea! Chalk isn’t as high as the numbers in the other thread would suggest

I’m the other Chalk vote. Build date Jan 15, US delivery ETA mid April.

Can’t wait. This will be my first GT3 ... I finally parted with the convertibles (one 996, two 997 S). The opportunity to get one of the last naturally aspirated engines, with 9,000 rpm and a stick won me over vs a 991 GTS convertible. :-)

Color wise, black was my other favorite (my 997’s were black), but ultimately decided for something more special. It’s a beauty, build code PJAWTT42.

Wondering how many touring people think will be built? My rough math: 991.2 production run of about 6,000 GT3’s (across model years ‘18 & ‘19, about as much as 991.1, and 2x 997’s). 20% Touring, ie 1,200 GT3 Tourings globally. 1/3 US share is 400 GT3 Touring’s in US. Thoughts?

Welcome Mossman. Nice build. Interested to know why you didn't go with the Alu trim option to match the silver wheels ?
