Didn't feel very different to the regular 991.2 GT3 we tested for 000 last summer. Still mulling whether we will publish a bigger story on the T/Touring drive in 000. Frankly, it was one of the best drives of my life, and I think the story would be a good one to tell—but there's a but: The structure of the event precluded me bringing a 000 shooter, so we'd have to use (the very, very good, thanks to who they brought) press photos, and that feels a bit funny in 000.
Thanks Pete, I was hoping you’d join the discussion.
Sorry if I misquoted your comments on how Porsche engineers occasionally have a surprise up their sleeves and how small differences can make for big changes in the experience. Must’ve been my wishful thinking as I read your post, for it came right after I locked my order.
Still hoping to see a 000 article on the GT3T!

Cheers

Ah, yes, that sounds like something I did write, and maybe I was wishful that we'd see evidence of that in the GT3 Touring (which is just a visual package, save the aero effects of the rear wing) and the Carrera T (I was frankly surprised at how similarly the T drove to a Carrera or Carrera S).

Now, for the good news: The "basis" cars in question are insanely good. And I think you are going to be thrilled...

Chris,
Maybe the sound your are noticing is the particle filter now for petrol cars in Europe? One would
Need to compare to a recently delivered GT3, not your early delivery one. Keep us posted.....because if true, the dealers should already know.

Lol - I mentioned this as tongue in cheek. The filters are not required until September (according to our Joker friend).

It would surprise me a lot if they started producing cars with filters before they actually have to. Those components aren't cheap.

@mowaffaq: very nice car. A question - did you spec the Porsche "shield" on the center console lid? I can't seem to find it in the configurator... Do you have the option code?

I did bar the silver trim. I went for Xenon PDLS and wished I went for LED PDLS. I think it would look great with silver trim.

also the .2GT3RS is currently not equipped for EU with the filter.
just 2 or 3 ways catalyst can be found as info.

"Die Sportabgasanlage des neuen 911 GT3 RS hat 2 Vorschalldämpfer, 2 Katalysatoren sowie einen Endschalldämpfer und 2 zentrale Endrohre aus Titan."

If it is about a combined particel filter in the catalyst - it is always the talk of a "4-way" catalyst.

That is my understanding as well. I have been told the last U.K. GT3 deliveries will be in May and all will be pre PF. May be different for Continental Europe / LHD.

With its garage mate. Delighted with the Touring. Has some very cool connections to older 911’s I think such as chrome trim and engine sound. I cannot detect any difference to the winged manual I drove at the PEC earlier this year. Engine note very similar to my ears.
