Default Call from Porsche regarding the new updated Engine for gt3 991.1

Have just recieved notification that Porsche Sweden is going to change my engine to a new one with regards to the warranty update. My question is, does anybody know how the new updated engine differs from my existing E-Engine?
Is it the same finger follower construction etc?

Hej,

Um guessing, yes same construction but new cams and finger followers made to last.

I assume you've seen the sticky thread at the top?

Hej!

Ok, thanx. yes i have seen most of the posts about the issue. Would be interesting to know if anybody with insight knew if the new engine had fixed finger followers and/or other changes internally. Wouldnt say no to the new 991.2 engine either

There is a post somewhere. Yes they changed some things and some tolenerences to fix the issue MOST of the time. That does not mean that a “G” motor is perfect. It is better than the “E” and have far less issues with them. You should be excited to get a whole new engine.

I keep seeing this but can someone please educate me and let me know what a "finger follower" is.

Coincidentally, I talked to the mechanic at Porsche today. He said the only update to the engine is the finger followers. The cams are the same. So the solution is pretty cheap if you live in a country that doesn't have the extended warranty coverage.
