Default The Letter

I tried to look down the list and I don't see this posted yet...

Today, in the mail, I got a letter from PCNA confirming the warranty extension that the Owners Group got for us! To quote: "Effective at once, the limited warranty on all your vehicle's internal engine components continues for ten years from you vehicle's original in-service date, up to 120,000 total miles on your vehicle, whichever occurs first."

So, it does cover more than just the valve wear problem!

We should all thank those (many on this list) that made this happen!

It's in the sticky thread on the COG. Yes, great result and outstanding effort by the COG.

I congratulate both our Representative group and PCNA/PAG.

Make no bones about it - tell me another Car Manufacturer who would do what Porsche has done.

Agreed, congrats on those who made it happen and Porsche AG/PCNA for stepping up to the plate. Got my letter today as well.

Actually - BMW has done it any number of times on engines they've screwed up.. usually 10 years/100,000 miles.

Sorry - I just dropped in (usually in the Cayenne forum)

991.1 is now very underpriced at the going used car rate.. unlimited track miles with no consequences... that’s some unheard of stuff

I assume they can deny for track use like the normal fine print, but we haven’t heard of such a denial yet.

I think they'd have a really hard time doing that, since the owner's manual package includes a separate document specifically related to driving the car on the track. Maintenance requirements are higher, but if complied with I think the warranty will stick.

But what do I know? I've been practicing law long enough (1974) to know that nothing is certain until the judge and/or jury have spoken.

I too received "the letter" today. I just made my final lease payment this month on my car, so I assumed it was a letter regarding the lease termination. I was surprised to see the contents. I followed the sticky thread, but hadn't realized Porsche would actually formalize the agreement by notifying everyone.

I'd already decided to buy out the lease, but the extended warranty made it an even easier decision. I'm at 3 years and 25K miles, so my car has NOT been a garage queen!

It was really a community effort, involving over 250 owners who signed up, donating to the charity, etc., combined with some great guys who made the trip to Atlanta. Great result for thousands of owners.

No kidding. Our engine will still be under warranty when the new model warranty expires!
