I think you are on the money. While it may have the cool tonneau cover, the practicality of the cabriolet cannot be underestimated. You will just have to be patient until it comes out and if it did you just saved a bundle of $$$.

Drive safe,

Now we're talkin'. The only thing my GTS cab lacks is that 9k rpm 4.0. and some buckets.

I like the idea of a "stripper". I always felt my spyder was over accessorized.... If Porsche makes all the Speedsters without A/C and Radio, then that might bring the pool of buyers down. I think a Stripper Speedster is a fantastic and true to the roots idea; however, customization options from the factory is also cool so I'm open to all options myself, no judgement, but a stripper would be ideal imho.

Values are subjective but to me the Spyder (even a Boxster) is MUCH better looking than the Speedster (or any other 911 convertible) and 380hp is much more back-roads friendly than 500hp. Frankly, I can't see why anyone would choose a Speedster over a Spyder (or even a Boxster), except maybe FOMO and status signalling (google Veblen good). Porsche seems to be milking the latter to the max with its GT marketing/sales. Every new GT model comes as if made of unobtanium only to be offered for sale in droves with <1k miles less than a year later and before the new GT unobtanium car gets launched. Rinse, repeat.

Yep- the only Porsche right now I would trade my .2 Manual for would be a Touring Cab- I will take one in Carmine Red with some sort of retro wheels

It is subjective ( Beauty). I love the Spyder. Ideally, I would have loved to have a garage with a Spyder and a Speedster, but it didn't work out that way for me unfortunately as much as I tried - That's another can of worms I'll leave alone. Having a 356 to play with in my driveway as a kid gives the new speedster extra appeal. I love the lines, but yes it's subjective.

PS.After 3 years of ownership of 2 Spyders, Right now I'm Spyderless, but I do plan on buying a nice used one down the road because they are FANTASTIC CARS.

Speedster is the end of the 991. You referring to a 992 Touring cab? That seems a long ways off to me.

There was a 991.2 touring cab mule rolling around a while back.

I don’t think Porsche will be making a touring cab.

I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that 991 production will stop around Sept when all the Speedsters are built.

Question is if the GT3RS production run has finished.. then the speedster run. Seems an extremely low probability of any more 991 GT variants.

End of the line. Enter the 992.

I thought that was an early speedster? It's hard not to pay attention when a beautiful new Porsche spy shot is released, but I can't keep track of them all. I do remember a cab 4.0 but I thought it was being described as a Speedster tester.

So there was a cab that was a GT3 Touring with a convertible (not speedster) roof. I presume it was just a mule that they were using to test something related to the speedster and not a planned production model. Then again, if speedsters well like hotcakes and there is massive ADM, it would be very easy to make a GT3 Touring cab for the plebes who can’t get a speedster. And we all know Porsche likes making money.

I’ve been told to expect my build date for the second batch of Euro cars next week..
