In addition to the funky pea-shooter pipes, the exhaust itself does not appear to resemble a 991.2 GT3 exhaust.
Opens the door to lots of speculation

No exhaust tips installed

That is scaring me. Why test with the smallest tips ever put on a modern GT car. My cleaning lady confirmed 100% it was a GT car.

The cloth top is definitely shorter and has no rear side window. The back section currently there is tacked on and is presumably covering the streamliners. Funnily enough the side window/top interface looks very similar to Boxster Spyder.
Did previous Speedsters have manually operated tops?

FWIW, A. Cup cars have had smaller tips for quite some time (though the new 991 cups do seem to finally be up to 89mm) and B. they are VERY AWARE of what tips they put on test cars save a couple of entertaining oops stories, but none that are really with the sexy cars...they fine tooth the GT mules pretty damn well.

I think that the car in substance is what we see in the pics.
Probably just little surprises regarding the front and the rear bumpers (looking what happened for the .2 Gt3 Rs).
Too many GT in the same range are killing the model.
They want to exploit everything and everyone until the end, but this presages the end of the NA, probably.
