CJ,
appreciate how you do business. I am #1 for all GT cars at my local dealer because not only do I purchase GT cars, I purchase Cayenne's, 718s, ect ect. I also service ALL my cars there and buy off brands through their dealer network, ei: Raptor through there Ford dealership. I would hope all dealers would do the same, that is take care of their local clients.
Now, spill the beans on the GT4RS comment!!!!

My dealer in UK used to take deposits and appeared to honour the order of the queue. But they stopped doing that a couple of years ago and now I basically have no idea how they allocate GT cars. So i genuinely do think the openness is good.
But of course I wouldn't buy a car I didn't want on the off chance of an allocation. But of course it's fair to give your rare cars to your best customers so I can see both sides.

I don't think this works if you try to force people to buy a car they don't want. I don't see anyone suggesting that. If you want a GT car you likely have/need other cars as well. Should a dealer sell a GT car to someone who just bought a GLC and a E63, or should they sell that car to the person who bought a Macan and a Panamera from them. I believe Porsche wants to sell their GT cars to people who also want and buy their other vehicles as well.
If you only want a GT3 from Porsche but also want a GLC63 or a Stelvio, in my view you should be prepared to pay a premium or wait a very long time. Straight lists don't work because everyone gets on every dealer list for every car ever to be rumored.

CW - I have read dozens of your posts and still can't figure out your motivation. You dance from vitriol to kindness to antagonizing to veiled admiration. How come everyone knows who CJ is, yet no one knows who you are, despite the almost proprietary nature of your posts? Your questions seem so blatantly rhetorical in nature, that CJ may have to plead the 5th just to have a conversation, e.g., "How do your clients respond when you lie, cheat and steal their soul?"
Your style of writing reminds me of my ex wife's divorce attorney, who would garnish wages, make false accusatory statements, then close with a "kindest, warmest regards of the highest nature with potential hugs and sincerity."

The strategy of forcing a client to buy undesirable inventory has always been ridiculed around here, so I’m trying to figure out how this situation is different. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Respectfully,

NO, I've never bought cars specifically to get allocations. However, I appreciate the fact that my dealer gives me preference for rare allocations specifically because I am local customer who buys/services and refers other customers to them. I scratch their back, they scratch mine.
