This is one car I have no idea how to spec. I almost always go black, but I feel a car like this needs something different, maybe white on peanut butter interior. I didn’t like the two tone silver and white.

It'll look awesome in Carrera white metallic or Guards red..

Any clue as to weight and engine specifications? It appears regular cabs add about 150 lbs. Are there any structural changes to cabs that add weight or just the roof mechanisms? What will the carbon reinforced panels save as compared to RS? Does the RS have the same carbon panels or will the Speedster have additional panels to offset any weight increase (if any). Being a manual, even if it does have the 520 hp of the RS I guess it will not match the lap times. Is it possible to have the additional 20 hp of the RS without having the additional cooling ducts of the RS? Bottom line, is this car going to perform more like a GT-R cab (manual GT3RS road going cab), or like a GT3 cab.?

perhaps I should have been more specific with the 6 series analogy, relating it to the newer 6 series generation that doesn't have the extremely bulbous ***. it's still bulbous and out of scale. I'll just stick with the Ferrari f430 analogy and drop the 6 series, as that is more streamlined and in line with a sports car.

QUOTE=JAM2;15376381]I don't exactly see this as being a car that is concerned with being lightweight and focused on lap times. If it were, it would have pdf, a roof, and a big wing. Oh wait, Porsche does make a couple of those cars already. [/QUOTE]
The 911R was designed to be a road car first therefore it also did away with the big wing and offered the “slower”, but “more fun” manual transmission as well. I guess I just do not understand why it was so desirable to have a GT series road car when the turbo does a fine job. In other words what advantage did a GT setup have over the turbo for a road car? In fact, the turbo is almost a second quicker 0-60. If on the other hand, you would like a track car, the GT3 or RS is a much quicker choice than the “R”. I think of being on the track as going “fast”, and on the road as “fun”. So for the track, the RS or GT3 would seem better but maybe some prefer rowing even though it would be a bit of a slower ride. Maybe the “R” is a lot more fun than a turbo on the road and that is what makes it so appealing. Will the Speedster be “better” than a turbo cab. on the road? How about on the track? I am not sure about the real life experience on the road compared with the turbo but I am sure that ithe Speedster will be much more dialed in on the track. Ultimately, I think other than being a really cool vehicle, I think the Speedster has the potential to offer the greatest open air track experience of any Porsche ever.
Thoughts?

Have you spent much time in a GT car.....
Turbo has nothing in common.
There are turbo guys and GT guys.
This weekend at CC I ran into 3 people that have spent ample time in a Gt2 RS and a GT3 RS both perfect the GT3 RS. Track and street.
Compare a Turbo to a GT3...... nothing in coming but the Porsche logo. My wife would love a Turbo.... me not so much.

I haven't read any of the 1200+ posts in this thread. But... If anyone with a highly optioned PTS or nice color GT3 touring wants to sell so that they can move on to the 'speedster' - please PM me.
