I am considering trading our 987 Boxster Spyder and GT3 Touring for a Speedster but I'm having a tough time seeing the value in consolidating vs status quo at msrp. With a 5-figure ADM, let alone $100k+ I'm definitely out.

That trade makes no sense even as an even trade, which it is definitely not, even at msrp for the speedster.

I know, another reason I was so annoyed! We placed order request as soon at the 2RS was released, but it just sat there unfilled. I was able to get a 991.2 3RS to replace my 991.1 RS and a 991.2 GT3. But I really wanted a stripper GT2 to beat up on track.

Yes Sir- Car is overpriced and nothing any one says will change my mind

But - will have high Collectability value down the road unless Porsche makes a Touring Cabrio for a $80,000 less because I think it will be a better looking car

I see a total of 6 GT2RS’s listed on autotrader for MSRP all of which are probably pre-sold. The rest are substantially higher. How is this “crashing down”?

List price and sale price are very different things. And even the ADM ask on 2RS now is much lower than than when the car was first announced.

Expect similar with Speedster, so everyone freaking out about current Speedster ADM needs to keep both things in consideration.

i agree, only difference there will be less speedsters going around. Was already offered 50 over on my allocation from someone that knows that I’m getting one. And I think it’s just for purpose of flipping not driving. Mine will be a driver. Hype is pretty big right now at least in Canada.

I agree. Most people think ADM is too high and I think it is. VIPs have been accused of flipping cars. Those who did have been booted out. This time this is not because of 918 VIP owners only, because they are held accountable to own the Speedster for at least a year or face the consequence of being "Kicked Out" of the program. On the other hand there are roughly 250 VIP left in the program. If USA is receiving 500 to 600 Speedsters, the Speedsters between 251 and 500, or as many as 600 copies here in USA goes to VVIP, diehards, fans, etc. That also will now include the "Flippers" who are not held to hold the car for one year and can easily "Flip" or "Capitalized" the car for profit.


No matter how we skin the cat, the presence of "Flippers" are very strong.
