Just to clarify.
The $250k went directly from the buyer to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. Hennessy will not touch that.

Then to make it very clear this is not at an attempt to profit, they are donating the difference between MSRP and Invoice directly to the foundation.

Would be be great to see other dealers join the fight for a good cause!

Yes it was amazing.. I hope Hennessy receives a lot of good-will business from this.

Sorry for being a little off topic... Do the particulate filters leave quite a large gaping hole behind the rear wheels? Asking the question because I have side muffler bypass and the bypass being so much smaller than the side mufflers, leave a big void behind the rear wheels and I didn't want to change the airflow characters into the engine bay much or have debris thrown into the engine by without the mufflers blocking the opening.

Looks like 510 hp @ 8400 rpm (150 rpm increase from the GT3 and RS). Same torque as the RS but peaking 250 rpm higher. The GPF exhaust saves 22 lbs. Not bad...

Do you think the new power and torque curve profiles are due to ITB’s, ECU tuning, or new camshafts (or combo of some/all)?

See Pete's other thread for more on ITB and OPF; the aftermarket will have its work cut out for GT3 exhausts in the 992 generation (if you believe, as I do, that the Speedster has the 992 GT3 engine):

A new exhaust design for the first time since 997.1 (12 years ago!)
No particulate filter per se in USA, but the housing will be there and the ECU won't like deleting it

1. Gasoline Particulate Filter increases exhaust back pressure, limiting the engine’s ability to breath and hence peak power.
2. Breathing is improved by fitting ITBs, reducing the restriction at the throttle plate. Unfortunately that’s not enough to offset the loss from the GPF (vs the RS).
3. A cam is used to shift the power and north, increasing power for a given cylinder pressure and limiting the hp loss.
4. As a side effect the cam also increases the RPM at which peak torque is produced.

That my best guess, anyway. I’d really like to know what the engine would make uncorked (if it wasn’t limited by software when the exhaust restriction wasn’t present). I’d guess something like 540 at 8450 rpm.

Petevb,

Do you think the 22lbs is more than offset by the GPF? That is, I sort of think that sure the exhaust is lighter, but the GPF is new and adds weight.

That’s the weight reduction including the two GPFs. Apparently they cut enough noise that the they can eliminate the side mufflers, more than offsetting the filter weight. Shame that they increase backpressure.

Thanks! With respect to the uncorked power, I’d say you’re very close as the GT3R makes 550hp (redline is supposedly 9,400 rpm, but I don’t know where the power peak lives). Not aware of any substantive differences between the two engines, aside from exhaust and tuning.

Thank you Petevb, after I posted I read (Peter) Stout’s comment.

Seems like one could fool the pressure sensors ... also makes you wonder why they needed the big side mufflers (I suppose you really don’t lol). With just mesh on US cars, maybe they will be louder than a GT3 or RS at low rpm?
