Thanks for chiming in with information on the individual throttle bodies and how they might work. I hate when you buy a "great" car and it spends a lot of time in the shop. Any more information would be appreciated regarding mechanism and how it might impact ownership would be appreciated.

BMW decided to design the gears inside those actuators in plastic... not a great decision. Hopefully, Porsche chose/chooses something more durable.

Speaking generically, throttle bodies fail like anything else. Motors go bad or the throttle position sensor wears out or fails. The fact that there are six means there are five more failure points (probably more as there will be more sensors too).

Fortunately, they have been using ITB's in their race cars for many years (every generation of RSR and more recently GT3R). So, hopefully some of the kinks may have been found and addressed (if they existed).

Yes, not saying they are bad or anything like that. It’s just any component can and will fail at some rate and at some point. And the more components, the more likely to be a failure.

One interesting data point, I know 3 918 VIP customers who just passed on it because it's overpriced And simply not interesting enough to them the way the final car came out.

Have to assume they were also given pricing above MSRP, right?

The 992 Carrera S Cab has a stated 443 HP and 0-60 in 3.8. The 0-60 already matches the Speedster, so it is probably safe to assume the GTS will get a 20-25 HP bump and then be even quicker.

Hopefully, nobody is shopping these two models on their 0-60 numbers. That's pretty far down the list of the Speedster's reasons for existence...

0-60 is based on launch control pdk which will always be faster than stick shift speedster. im wondering about real word driving experience between the 2. and throw in next boxster spyder to the mix. probably all pretty close.

how many speedsters would sell if it was unlimited model and cost around 200k without any adm?

No, that's not how VIP program works.

And no, that's also not how VIP program works (those who are still in it know that well, and those who are out of it now know exactly why that happened also).
