Normal option on the 992 Carrera.
This is a great article. Confirms the emissions issue and the particulate filter. Has anyone received official word if this is the same situation for the 3rs?

Thanks for the photos, Pistol Pete.

I'm not in the market for one, as I already have a 'vert. And I can carry on a conversation with the top down in it.

And yeah, the Touring is louder than I would like at freeway speeds. I imagine the cabin noise in the Speedster will preclude conversation. Sign language required.

So does the US version does have the particulate filter? Is this the reason they lost power compared to the GT3 RS. I thought their target was 520 hp for this car. They had to give it individual throttle bodies just to bring it to the level of the regular GT3. Two steps forward, maybe three step back.

I don't believe the Speedster (or any other 911) will have the particulate filter for the USA (unless PAG feels given only 1948 will be built for production logistics issues it's easier to 'slap' them on all cars, but unlikely).

I believe the 503HP is SAE, which is 510HP metric. So in between the GT3 (500) and RS (525).

I am in love for the speedster, planning a nice PTS CXX to make my dream ride. Do not plan to sell or to keep it in garage to make profit on but to put it on the road and make it alive.
Little bit disapointed by wheels and « cheap looking » heritage package ... The 2 concepts were looking more sharp, wheels make a big difference. Hope something else still to show from Porsche.
Price announced is just huuuuge and will cut my exclusive manufaktur option plan ... but didn’t see any official word on it from Porsche, neither from my dealer.
He told me he only know his allocation, the rest will come first week of may (official price, configurator).
Interesting! Especially since Porsche does not usually disclose allocations to anyone prior to the model release.

The net change should be an improvement of 9 hp (metric) and 7 ft-lbs over the GT3 (as well as better throttle response and intake sound), so I think more steps forward than back

Yes, a step forward imho. The most beautiful Porsche auto since the 981 Spyder and that was an underappreciated car as well. What else is on the Porsche horizon in the NA segment? Still no phone call Lol

I’d be surprised if Porsche deleted the GPF for North American Speedsters.

The RS was launched prior to the GPF being required in Europe and will supposedly be added to 2019 European delivered cars. I don’t think they would change NA bound cars mid way through the delivery cycle when it is not legally required here. The Speedster is being launched after the new emission laws came into effect so I can’t see Porsche tuning, validating and tooling up for two variants over 1,948 units.

For the money I'd rather take a 3rs + a boxster spyder. And Porsche is working hard on not leaving much on the table : 2k unit & 275k base msrp, GL to all the flipper/investors!

Nice avatar. Any more information would be much appreciated. Especially regarding the NA gasoline 911 lines.

I'm a sucker for the gold Porsche script!
