Smile Benecia Deliveries

Good news for those of us that are waiting for GT3 deliveries at Benecia. There are two boats scheduled to arrive there in January. the Dalian Highway on 1/2/18 and the Grand Phoenix on 1/18/18.

Anybody have a GT3 on the DALIAN HIGHWAY? It left Emden for Benecia on 11/8.

My White GT3 Touring is on the Dalian Highway. The poor car sat in Emden for exactly a month...

Chris88: Mine was "in production" for over a month, then on the dock for five weeks. Porsche gets paid a lot to torture us.

Wow, mine was in production for about 3 weeks, so not quite as bad as yours. Is your car on the Dalian Highway?

Mine landed last Saturday at Benicia and arrived at the dealer (Sonnen) on Tuesday. Picking it up Saturday after the front end wrap. Decided to have it done at the dealer since will have a 400 mile drive down to SoCal.

I think a few other GT3s have arrived also. Another GT silver is in the background, 2nd photo. And looks like a black one in the 4th.

Congratulations gago1101, your car looks awesome. GT Silver was my second choice. I've heard car's coming into Benicia are getting to the dealer's very quickly, as was the case for you. I'll be curious to hear how your drive is to So Cal and how the GT3 is a on a long trip. I do that drive all the time for work, and I highly recommend you take 101. It only takes about an hour longer and is much more scenic and less crowded then I-5.

Driving down the coast was my original plan, but I’m picking up late afternoon and have to drive down same day.

I have driven the .1 GT3 a few times up and down Cali. No complaints or issues; back, butt and legs all in good shape after the drive. The buckets are surprisingly comfortable, at least for me.

Bummer, as you probably know, I-5 is long, straight, and boring. Plus, it will have extra holiday traffic. Depending on where you live in SoCal, 101 might be just as fast. I highly encourage you to avoid I-5. You want to make your first drive in the GT3 a positive one.

Amen.

My Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo arrived in San Diego over a week ago. Because it's a "new model" (and of course it's really only a new roof line) it needs to go through customs, EPA and California Air Resources Board certifications. The dealer's ETA for the car is early February. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who's told "Merry Christmas but you can't open your presents for another six weeks." AAAARGHHH!!!!

Damn diesels. It's all their fault. The Government now is just messing with all things VW related.
