what would you do, I can always get another RS. But I do love the RS. Spider 2013 4K miles RS 2000 miles. The RS will move above MSRP. Not interested in the 488 I’ve always love this design.

Nice looking 458! If u aren’t planning to track the 458 or put many miles on it, go for it!

I feel your indecision, well sort of. I got a call from a Fdealer with a ‘12 458 Coupe w/ my exact requirements. The next day before I signed the 458 papers, I was offered a dream GT car at msrp. Passed on 458, for now.
BTW, I would never trade my UV for a 458/488...keeper. Only would add 458.

Life is short - do what makes YOU happy. Don't know your situation, rationale behind the move, how many cars you have, etc...but I do love the 458. That specific one you posted a photo of is not my cup of tea personally, but if it appeals to you that's what matters. I'd like to own a 458 one day if I have the opportunity, had the pleasure of sitting in the passenger seat of a 458 Spider many years ago and I still remember that wail coming from taking the NA V8 to redline. The engine and design, Ferrari knocked it out of the park IMO.

That being said - the maintenance and longevity of the 458 I cannot speak to, and I know that is something Porsches are always strong at.

Thanks all for replies. I have a four car limit to what I can park keeps me honest. Don’t have a lot of time to drive because I travel a ton, always wanted to own a F car and I love the 488/V8 screamer. My son said no, and wife yes she likes the F car. MTC is my concern, but hell if you want to play there’s a cost to the game I say. The reason I posted I know many members here had or has 458 experience. Thx

I wouldn’t let go of an RS for a 458. Too common and unless you’re garaging it way more than driving it, doesn’t make sense to me. Now if you have it as a third car then sure. It’s a beautiful car but not something I’d give up my GT car for.

458 isn't what you think it is. The magic wears off quickly - while gt porsches get better over time

Comparing a Ferrari to Porsche, one needs to take into account the maintenance. Ferrari maintenance and care will cost significantly more compared to a RS. If cost is no issue, go with your heart! Both are amazing cars

I have a Speciale and a 488 Spider and an RS. Speciale > 488 > RS > 458. Why? 458 Spider a bit wobblier than 488, engine is wonderful but the RS is hardly lacking there and RS actually has a better sound IMV. 488 and RS are very difficult for me to choose - they are different cars really but if I could only have one it is the 488. The Speciale stays. It’s named perfectly and is a masterpiece.

If you just want a change, there should be no disappointment in a 458, so long as you understand you are buying into a car with a very different (and equally wonderful) vibe.

Before I nabbed a .2 GT3 Manual( had a .1 GT3) I almost pulled the trigger on a 2014 458. I always wanted to own a Ferrari and the NA V8 screamer is a dream. But- when push came to shove I did not want to feel like I could not run up the miles on a Ferrari. Just say you buy it w/2000-4000 miles and by the time you get up to 10,000 miles you are going to take a haircut on trade/sale. Plus, I really do not like the attention.

In the end- I would not trade an RS for the 458. It would be an add-on in my opinion

I owned a 458 for 3 years. Now a 488. The maintenance on 458's from 2012 on was included for 7 years. Buy the Ferrari extended warranty and have fun.
If I could only have one it would be the Ferrari. IMO my RS attracts just as much attention.

thanks man good info. Appreciate the board as it’s helpful to hear from guy that owned both. This spec is hard to find full of carbon and quilted seats. I can get another RS pretty easy ........promised a .2 from a good source. All good. Thx.
