as the title states, the list is for engines available right now. The 3.8 has been gone for 2 years.... don’t derail this to a #1 vs thread please.

He was trying to be clever again. His point with this post is the "new" 3.0 TT motor isn't on the list.

The 2.0L BMW turbo??,.....I have one in the family, what a dog of a engine unless on boost. Sounds like a small diesel truck running. Will never own another example again.
I would put the Porsche 3.0L way above this slug.

I have the 2.0 in the wife’s X3 and my 5 m sport. In the 2013 X3 it does sound just like a diesel but not in the 2016 5 M sport. It’s not a performance oriented engine but for the 2.0 it is.... it is very good.

Also, I believe that although this is a fantastic engine for an appliance, IMO it doesn’t belong on this list. My conspiracy is that BMW pays C&D a lot of $$& and this is the workhorse engine spanning across the brand so it needs positive propaganda.

this always shocked me. I had one of these blown 5.0 in an XKR and XKRS. AMAZING engine and 28 hmpg with over 500hp! If this engine was in anything other than a jag it would be hailed. IMO Aston should have gone this route over AMG.

If the old 3.8 GT3 motor was the MA175 and the RS/R's were MA176, what's the designation on the new 4.0L motor?

Even if I owned a car with a motor on this list, I would never buy into it. Most of these are bought and paid for in various ways by manufactures.
