Im going to say the orange one, the door plate looks too perfect like a reproduction unit

Correctamundo. In Porsche color-speak,
we say
'Grey':



In Audi color-speak, for example, they say 'Gray',
as in 'Daytona Gray' & 'Nardo Gray':



Again, in Porsche color-speak we take the same color
& called it
'Nardo Grey':

I have a good friend in Chandler, and might take you up on your offer. Can’t think of a better way to break in the green beast then a Las Vegas to Chandler/Scottsdale area.

Seems like you are spoon feeding us now. My guess is the 2 codes are redundant, only one was needed in this case. 2323 is tangerine. G is the paint manufacturer...Glasurit.

I'm confused. Wouldn't a sold vehicle need to have a sales history and application for title. I know that dealers in TX act as DMV agents. So why is it that no sales record can be found doing a VIN search? Was there never any paperwork done to obtain the title?

I may take you up on that offer. Tennille is my wife who happens to have family all over AZ.

Grey and Gray both describe the same color where gray is predominantly used in America and grey is used everywhere else. Porsche of North Houston is in America.

Ok, enough spoon feeding then. Here is
my issue with that so-called 'Orange' 911
at PNH.

1) First, the color in English is 'Tangerine'.
The color in German is 'Blutorange', which
translates as 'Blood Orange' (the fruit most
commonly associated with Sicily
)). No one
that knows the history of Porsche colors ever
calls this hue (018) just plain 'Orange'! So that
is perhaps telling us something already about
the seller's expertise, or perhaps even lack of
concern, for 'originality' in a 'Classic Porsche'!

2) In the period 1970/1971, Porsche would have
used '2323' to indentify a coupe done in 'Tangerine'.





But I don't believe the kunstharzlack (synthethic paint)
plate on the driver's side door-jam would have repeated
itself in the fashion found on this reproduction tag on the
1971 911T at PNH:

In neither case the color code is repeated by the factory. That would be 'redundant'!
So Floorit is eligible now for three (3) beers if he decides to visit Scottsdale!

In MY1972/1973, Porsche would have gone to the more traditional
color identification, using 018 instead of the 2310 (Targa) or 2323 (coupe).
It would look like this:

Below is the 'Kunstharzlack' plate on my old original factory paint
'Signal Yellow' MY1973 911T:



And a bit of paint trivia for those interested in the history of paint at Porsche.
The 114 was the paint color code for 'Signal Yellow'.
The -9- was the location where it was painted - Porsche Zuffenhausen
The -1 was the code for the paint manufacturer used. 1 stood for 'Lesonal'; 2 would signify 'Glasurit'; 3 would be 'Herberts' for that historic period.

Summary: In my opinion, PNH has to do a better job representing correctly the colors of the Porsches they have for sale.




1) The 'Gulf Blue' 1966 912 is actually 'Golf Blue'!
2) The 'Orange' 1971 911T should be instead identified by it's historical color name in the US market - 'Tangerine'!
3) The 'Meteor Gray Metallic' .2 997 gt3 RS is neither 'Meteor' nor 'Metallic'. It's a solid/uni 'Grey Black'!

I would say that is a 'Failing' grade!

Thanks for the education and offer of 3 beers. I’d drive down to collect it in my 1967 911S but it is a long drive for that car. I’ll wait until my 2019 GT3 arrives (it will be a cool garage of cars….the first and the latest hot rod 911).

I have been “given an allocation” for the 2019 GT3 (read as …You cannot lock into the system a 2019 GT3 yet...read as....I currently have a V070….read as ….are there any 2019 GT3 forthcoming down the road?…read as…..holding my breath for this to happen).

Keep those beers on ice. See you in 2019....maybe.

delivery? They knew months ago he didn't want it and ordered a Touring from them instead.

Again, let's turn this into a positive.

Martin - if you agree to stop smearing PCNA and Porsche dealers for one year, I drop this whole thing.
As I mentioned previously, I do believe I have empirical proof that PNH was not honest in the story
behind this particular GT3. I haven't posted that proof yet... I was hoping not to. I was hoping you'd do
the right thing and change your contributions on RL to positive, informative content, rather than smearing
every dealer you can - 7900 mostly antagonistic posts over 4 years. I can't blame you entirely for how RL
has changed over the last few years, but you've played a large part. No one wants "Thunderdome." I'll go
one step further in this deal: if you promise to change your tune, I'll stop posting entirely at RL for 6 months.
How can you turn this deal down?
