A little over 750 miles now and more comments:
- lots of transmission rattle (PDK) when first rolling through neighborhood after cold start when it shifts into second gear. Seems normal and sound goes away very quickly.
-you can’t see jack out the rear window with those intake ducts and big wing. Totally worth it.
-this thing has great mid range torque. No need to downshift under most circumstances except for the very good reason of listening to the engine sing. Thinking it’s time to shift as you near 7k, but then you have another thousand rpm. It’s making a metallic ripping noise at this point that has overtaken the intake honk you hear under load as you climb past 3500rpm. But, wait?!?! You’re at 8,000rpm and you have ANOTHER 1,000rpm?? It’s an epic sound at this point. Many of you have heard it. Those that haven’t need to hear it in person. It’s a very special engine and sound.
-very, very fast and smooth upshifts and downshifts with this PDK-S. I love manuals and have one in my ZR1, but I don’t regret getting the PDK. It pairs with this engine very well. Really I’d like one of both to be honest, but I need a better job for that.
-ride compliance and road noise are not bad at all. Could definitely DD this car if you wanted. I have a hard time not driving this thing all the time.
