No drone in mine. And if there is, I can't hear it because the road noise is much louder than the exhaust anyway lol

Just picked up my GT3 Touring 2 weeks ago, and had the exact same problem as kbGT. Driver's side vacuum line was disconnected from the actuator. Hose clamps on both sides were not crimped correctly, although passenger side stayed connected. Drone was pretty severe at highway speeds - 2 hour drive gave me a headache and ringing ears. Even worse, when winding it up it was just shouting, not singing, even had the dash buzzing. Wondering if having one side actuated kicked up a bad resonance? After plugging it back in, all better, and now it sounds like the sweet B6 I was expecting. I'm new on reenlist, was super helpful to solve my issue - thanks kbGT!

My 991.2 GT3 has the drone when I picked it up. Must admit it was pretty dang annoying between 70-77mph on the 600mile road trip home.
Turns out there was actually a problem! The driver’s side vacuum line wasn’t connected to the solenoid that opens and shuts the valve! This was causing that valve to stay open 100% of the time.
After fixing, no more drone!
Cheers,
Kevin

If the car drones, the valves are unplugged. Only takes one of them to be unplugged and neither will work..
If at idle you hit the exhaust button and there is no change in the quality of the sound, you have a malfunctioning car.

Link to the ear buds pls? The road noise during my long highway trips (500+ kms) to my preferred tracks is pretty annoying sometimes

Might not be doing this properly. First time. My manual .2 gr3 going for service tomorrow. Extremely loud drone at all relatively low throttle application. Never had in my gen1. Come off slightly disappears. So loud hurts my ears.

Hmmm my car also had drivers side line come loose. Dealer said Porsche Germany were sending new parts and just heard they are in but haven’t been there yet.
anyone complaining of drone needs to look under car at drivers side. Vacuum operated solenoid is obvious as is line going to it.

I will say that on smooth roads they aren’t needed with my 991.2. But I’m sure with the terrible roads in Portland, it will be welcome relief from tire roar.
