GT3.2 Production Delay Question
With all this talk of production increase and lock in dates moving forward (confirmed by my buddy whose lock in date moved up by 1.5 months), I like to see if this board can shed some light as to why mine is delayed. My car went into the body shop the last week of October, confirmed by dealer at V260 status. Expected vehicle completion is a week later, which is normal. 2 weeks passed and now the expected vehicle completion date is shifted to the first week of December, over a month of production. My dealer confirmed today the car is still at V260 and completion is still showing December. He has no idea why it is taking so long. Mine is not a PTS and does not have any CXX options. Can anyone shed some light? I hope the car is not sitting somewhere incomplete...

I hate to say it but possibly damaged on the line? If it's not waiting on a special part I don't know what else it could be. Maybe your dealer can contact PCNA who can get some more info from Germany.

I did not mention I have the Vin #. Is the vin generated when the order locks, beginning of production or end of production?

I believe the vin is generated some time before it enters production. If you want to pm your vin I can check our tracking database.

Got an update today. My car entered the body shop (V260) on 9/20 and exited production (V270) on 11/16! Makes no sense. It is an no frills (stripper) MT.
Compared to the original tracking report the car has now been delayed 2 months. Porsche really makes you pay to be tortured.

Anyone know if the factory is closed the entire month of December or just certain weeks?

You're production sure is strange, as my Touring went V260 on 10/27, V270 (exit production) and V300 (vehicle completion) on 11/8. I received V331 (entry to port) 2 days later on 11/10. It's expected to go V332 (exit port Eden) on 12/1. What's strange on my car is that it appears to be the only Touring produced so far for North America.

I hate to kill this thread, but I will tell you that no one you will be able to contact, nor will anyone on this forum, will be able to give you any more or credible information until the status changes. By the time the dealer even goes through the 30 layers of administration trying to find out who in Germany can answer the status of one car on the assembly line, it'll likely move along.
...and, regardless of the answer (if the dealer is able to get one), it won't make any difference to you will it? You'll get it when it's built and delivered. No, no one forgot about it, it didn't get thrown in a corner, it didn't get a right hand drive steering setup by accident. Think of how many parts make up a car...and that's how many reasons are possible as to the car's status. You'll get it...give or take a month here or there from when it was estimated to be completed.
