I think there's no option to have Porsche original lithium battery at the moment.

Voltphreaks or Braille are the 2 leaders.

Why bother with the porsche OEM LiFe? It is uber-tiny and won't survive the winter and it has the "Porsche tax" since it is filled with Unicorn Tears™

I am pretty sure Voltphreaks used to make a model that even had a small reserve battery that you could switch to and get the car started 1X. http://www.voltphreaks.com/technologyodp.php

The braille one I was going to get for my R8 was an all-season model: https://www.braillebattery.com/index...atteries/i48cx

I have used the Braille i48ce in my 997RS and .1GT3 for years. I will probably get the cx for my .1RS, for the additional power.
Gary Savage at Braille is great to work with.

I did a write up a couple years ago and posted it on this forum when I was looking for one. I ended up with the Braille I48. Forgot exact model but it is true plug and play and has been great in the winter. The Voltphreak is the lightest but you will need to make a bracket to hold it down and was questionable for extreme winter conditions like here in Chicago. Been very happy with the Braille

It seems like the i48 is the "Goldilocks" of the lithium battery world..

its just the right size/capacity!

(The only reason I never put it in the R8 is that you have to disassemble the front of the car to change the battery! LOL!)

If my .2 GT3 allotment rings true, I will surely put one in.

Assuming the .2 GT3's battery is the same weight as the .1's, the Braille i48CX should save just over 25 lbs.?

Looked it up quickly and seem like a real value add to these cars
  • i48CX

  • Weight
    10.5lbs / 4.8kg
  • Length
    11" / 279mm
  • Width
    6.8" / 173mm
  • Height
    7.7" / 195mm
  • PCA
    1520
  • Ah
    25
  • PbEq
    75
  • Right Side Positiv
Braille Lithium delivers a higher, cleaner voltage which improves the performance of every electrical component and has shown to provide:• Quicker starting (a full volt higher than lead and less voltage drop during cranking)• Improved engine management & data logging performance (more stable voltage)• Less horsepower draw from the alternator due to efficient charging (5 times faster than lead),• Lasts 3-5 times longer (especially under the harshest environments),• Much more reliable (less than 1% failure rate)• Significant weight savings. (up to 1/4 the weight)• Don’t self-discharge, so if the battery is disconnected (no draw or via power disconnect switch), they can sit for over a year+ and still maintain over 13 volts to start the vehicle. To get all these benefits in one simple step makes it a very cost effective upgrade!!
