Default 991.2 GT3 High Oil Pressure

Hey guys, I just took delivery of my .2GT3 today and while driving around the oil pressure is in the high 60s (almost at the max based on the gauge) when cruising around 4k RPMs. I haven't gone above 5k RPMs because of the break in period so I don't know if it will climb even higher. I did a search and saw several posts about .1GT3's with high oil pressure.

Is this normal? What oil pressures are you guys running at?

Thanks!

60 psi is only 4 Bar, which sounds totally reasonable at 4,000 rpm.

What is pressure at idle when at operating temp?

At idle it's around 30-35psi.

I'm hoping that's the case. Just kinda odd Porsche would put the red limit on the gauge at around 70psi if normal operating range is so close.

I will check mine in AM for you. Raining all day but supposed to be fine tomorrow.

But remember- any thing not right it will trigger a warning so do not worry about ruining anything.

No warning. Just my own observation. Thanks for the help!

Is that at operating temp (~185F or so)? That sounds about right if the oil is a little cool. If it’s totally warmed up, seems slightly high, but not at all alarming.

Pretty sure it’s fine...

Its normal. Porsche just doesn't redo the gauge for the GT3+ cars.

I just read in the manual (probably should have done that in the first place) that it should at least be 58psi at 5k rpms. Doesn't provide a max pressure but there is an "oil too high" warning light that can occur which hasn't come on so I'm assuming I'm good.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure you’re good too. A little cool here in Colorado today. In the summer (and once you’re finished with break-in and can exercise it fully) you’ll see the pressures come down a little (psi per 1,000 rpm).

But all sounds good to me

No oil diverter valve on 991.2 GT3, unlike the 991.1 GT3. Porsche learned their lessons...

I dove mine on the Highway yesterday and noticed the same oil pressure reading. So i guess that is normal on this GT3
