Best Exhaust for a 991.2 GT3
#301
I had the GMG headers and exhaust put on my 991 GT3 RS, and I must say it sounded much better after the install.
From the factory the sound did little to nothing for me, personally. I was looking for a louder/more deep sound and the GMG headers and exhaust gave me what I was seeking.
I can't speak to the other systems out there, as there are quite a few now. I do know that I didn't look any more after having installed the GMG setup.

After extensive review, decided this time to go with the GMG bypass. Just got car back from delivery and detailing and it is phenomenal! Shopped around lots of options but I have become a GMG convert. Was the right sound for me, but I know it's a very personal decision. I don't think one can say which is the best all around for all. Really depends what your hopes are. For me the low end grunt of this one is just super and is transformative. Also, they had super customer support with the install and were quick to get back to me when needed. Thanks again guys!

This sounds excellent. This GRP is in combination with side-deletes. Is owner on here? Tubi or BBi side deletes? Drone scale 0-10 and respective RPM range? Anyone recommend a method to get vast majority of this volume, but significantly reduce drone? From what I understand some regret going side delete on 991 because of drone. I thought side-delete drone was acceptable on my 7.2 GT3 + SW. I like it towards obnoxious loud. Tx for any info!
my suggestion is go with our rear bypass first, we can then add sides later if you feel you want some more noise! I think rear is plenty good with the valves, but to each their own!

If you disconnect the valves(w/ GRP) you will get slight drone between 2000-3000 rpm but 10X better than the transition around 3800 when the valves open- that was way more annoying

Not louder(sort of) but just always open. So- it will be louder up until 4000 rpms when, if the valves were functioning, they would open. But - I love it with the valves open. I hate when they "open and shut" and "open and shut". And, no way does it give you less torque. Mu butt says "no way" and was tested on the .1 to of had no empirical difference.

Agreed, like GRP said plenty loud enough. We would definitely recommend starting w the center section as well.

The thing I have noticed is that with the higher torque in the .2 I can just cruise around town berween 3000-4000 rpm in 3rd gear quite comfortably w/o changing gears and the throttle response is so good if you get on her she just takes right off. If I had to listen to the open and shut every minute I would go bananas. Plus, it sounds smoother, as well.

The Akrapovic version is already out. It is the same unit that they offered for the 991.1 GT3. I have them in-stock and ready to go.

New bee questions
So, I got an allocation for a 2018 August build, Rhodium Silver, MT, LWB’s. I am very interested in one of the center muffler bypasses-looking at BBi, GMG, and CMS. My question is how does the 991.2 GT3 exhaust work RE valves. My. 2012 cayman R has the PSE with the little button you push to open the valves for a louder sound. Is there one of these buttons the 991.2? I don’t see the PSE option on the build sheet. Can’t find an owner’s manual to download. I appreciate a current owner clarifying this issue since valves are mentioned in these exhaust discussions but it seems to be a CPU controlled deal. Thanks in advance.
