991.1 GT3 vs 991.2 GT3 street ride quality
So i'm hanging out here, apparently next on the list for a .2 GT3 allocation at my dealer. This will be my first foray into the world of GT cars and I'm very excited. I'm also quite curious as to how this thing will feel driving on the street. This will just be a weekend toy for me so I'm not overly concerned about ride harshness, but realistically the vast majority of my driving will be on regular roads as opposed to the track. Obviously, test driving a .2 is not going to be possible. I'm wondering if I test drive a .1 GT3 will that chassis give me a sense of what the .2 will be like? Are there any reports of the .2 being stiffer or more compliant than the .1?. I currently have a .2 GTS and with the sport chassis selected I don't find the ride to be bad at all, even on rough roads. I know that the GT3 will be stiffer. Anyway I'm pretty set on getting a .2 GT3 either way, but just wanted to see if I could get a reliable measure of things to come by driving a .1. Thanks for your thoughts!

.1 and .2 have same ride. Same interior noise level. More torque. Suggest you ride in someone’s car if your on the fence. A GT3 is very dissimilar to other models. Not for everyone.

I feel the .2 is more compliant then the .1 for driving. The .2 is a more refined car but retains the rawness and visceral feel of a GT car. No question it is a step up in ride quality, performance and sound.

I just drove a .2 S with SPASM and a .1 GT3 about 3 days apart. The .1 GT3 is definitely stiffer, but not orders of magnitude stiffer. As long as you’re not borderline comfortable with the SPASM GTS, you should be fine with the GT3.

From the looks of your pic it looks like in some winter weather too! Glad to see, since I plan on basically DD'ing my .2 and was called a lunatic in another thread haha

I think you will have to drive for yourself and decide. I daily’d a 991.1 Carrera S for 2 years and then a 991.1 gt3 for about 6 months. I think there is a world of difference between ride quality. The S felt like a lixury sedan and the gt3 is raw. I won’t t daily a GT car again, but I don’t think I will be without one either. Its a special car and I enjoy driving it spiritedly 1-2 times/week. I don’t like being stuck in traffic in it or taking it out for only short spurts.

.2 also has Helper Springs, which the .1 does not.
.2 also has new spherical bearings in the steering hardware.
