Looks like no price increase with $175K sticker. I believe it was $179K for previous RS. Hope this is true.

It's not worth it in my opinion. Hood is CF anyway, I prefer the regular wheels and I'm not sure they're very much lighter, I don't want a cage. So it's just lighter sway bars, which I wouldn't have thought made any difference than the negligible weight saving.

Interesting than 90% of 2RS buyers are speccing it though according to EVO article.

Sadly, that will not be the case. The 991GT3 RS in British pounds was 131,292. According to the article, the MSRP for the basic 991GT3.2RS is 141,900.

I expect in the US, the MSRP for the basic model will rise from $175,900 to around $186,000.

I currently have a RY 991.2 GT3 PDK and the new RS is the only car out there i would get to replace it..If i get an allocation, i'm pretty certain it will be the launch colour Lizard green..However i'm undecided on whether or not to get the Weissach pack as the carbon weave bonnet might not suit the green..
But being a tight-fisted welshman i will probably baulk at paying the extra for the WP..If the weight savings are genuine and substantial i might be swayed as i love the thought of the Ti cage..Choices choices....

Ive looked and investigated Ti cages before on other vehicles. Difficulty is getting material weight savings when complying with physical dimensions (pipe size for one) required by the governing bodies for various cages. It clearly has a high strength to weight ratio, but having exact same pipe size and dimensions gives you a small weight saving (we estimated about 25% on the cage we were looking at) but the real saving would be to reduce the physical size of the cage (thinner tubes, or less of them perhaps) given its stronger. But motor sport governing body over here wouldn't allow it.

Are Porsche saying how much light the TI cage is compared to the alloy steel one ?

I agree all that it great and every Kg saved makes a difference on cars of this nature ,,,The thing is how much will Porsche charge for that weight saving , the WP option on a GT2 RS down under is an extra $60 K ....

I thought the standard cage was steel not alloy..I'm pretty sure the standard cage weighs 17.5Kg and i've read from Porsche literature both a 7Kg and 12Kg saving..I don't know which is the correct one but according to the company's website which makes the cage for Porsche, the Titanium cage weighs 40% less than the steel one..If my 17.5Kg figure for the steel one is correct then that saving translates to 7Kg.
The trouble with the ti cage is its not FIA compliant so no front cage can be fitted..
