That could be a plausible explanation. I'm from Italy.

I let an aug build go for a nov to get WP. I didn't even want WP until last minute.

What influenced your decision.....aside fro the fact it looks amazing was it the 13 pound weight savings or long term value for potential resale?

I would be tempted to take the non-WP sooner. Are people favoring WP for its appearance with exposed carbon or for the performance/weight savings?

As far as I see, in the US the Weissach package gets 11.7 pounds of its total 13.4 pounds of weight savings from the swaybars. I would think those could be easily added later (as well as the Mag wheels from BBS), if desired. Don't think the other 1.7 pounds will be felt

Earliest WP builds in the U.S. begin in Sept (with Nov) delivery from what I understand.

It's not a logic based decision. I just decided I wanted it at the last minute. I actually hated the exposed carbon on the 997 2rs I once owned. NEVER thought I'd want a car with exposed CF. I've always thought it looks after-market add-on. Idk, i just love RY+WP examples I've seen and think WP will be the iconic look from the gen 2 3rs.

Not resale or performance based. I've owned a lot of cars and I just like how much this differentiates from the past cars I've owned.

That is my dilemma; waiting to hear back from my SA about Build/completion date before I pull the trigger since I kinda like the 13 July build and probable late August delivery.

Interested in hearing the answers to the questions you posed from others that opted for the WP. My concern is if I opt for non-WP and want at a later date to get another Porsche would having the WP make it significantly more valuable car above and beyond the 18K sticker price.

No question the WP looks amazing especially with RY; Congratulations!............I had opted for the WP a couple of days ago since my SA was telling me it not affect my 13 July build but unfortunately that's when the build sheet can back "V100 Feasibility check failed". Hopefully, my SA will get back to me soon with the WP build/completion dates so I can make a decision.

You can actually buy the sway bars from Suncoast right now, so you are right, easy to switch over. Yea the roof weight savings are minimal but they are high up so lower center of gravity is a factor but likely a minor one. I I have a WP RS with Sept Build and late Sept Zuffenhausen pickup so likely one of the first US cars with WP, I like having the A-1 Black with the subtle contrast of the Carbon fiber but I think it looks way better on the GT2RS with the stripes, I also think that the lighter colors with the regular car look waaaayyyy better than the WP so appearance was not a factor for me. I really think the small changes will be that much better on the car. Porsche really has a talent for making very small changes that have a much greater effect on the car, especially the feel of the drive. Keeping the car factory is something I like to do so the WP makes sense to me

From a performance value standpoint, the WP is overpriced and doesn't make sense. But Porsche knows its customers well.

I agree completely, but when you look at other cars in the segment and track cars in general, the RS is one hell of a deal even with the WP. What else gives this level of performance and reliability for this price especially when new? Again, yes it's an incredibly superfluous purchase....

FYI, I remember when the e92 M3 came out. It had the option of either a carbon fiber roof (for the coupe) or a steel roof with sunroof. the CF roof saved 40+ lbs and supposedly lowered the center of gravity by a full inch. despite that, no performance tests were ever able to measure any difference in how the vehicles performed (acceleration, handling, etc.).

I think you can confidently conclude that highly the 1kg savings from the CF roof (vs. the already light magnesium roof) has absolutely no measurable impact on performance. as for the rest of the package, who knows...
