I was hoping they had limited the production to 1,000 now that I have a spot.

That's about as useless and indefinitive of a statement as you can make - recall what Porsche said about the 991.1 GT3RS production and then what happened ... could be 3,000 could be 5,000 .. as an added bonus it's sad commentary when 2,000 units is 'the most sought after Porsche also one of the most exclusive' ... used to have to be limited numbered edition sub 1000 units to even pretend to have that claim.

"One of the hallmarks of a car that is well balanced on the race track is a drivers ability to turn consistent lap time with it. Remember that bonkers lap from our friend Kevin Estre? Well it turns out that there were four laps. The times were 6:59.3, 6:57.5, 6:57.7, 6:56.4. That’s it. Four laps. Four lap times under seven minutes. Four laps all within three seconds of each other. That’s pretty damn well balanced in my book."

"The second bit of bad news is that the RS will only be produced until Spring of 2019. Estimates are that only about 2,000 RS-es will be allowed to roll of the line in that period of time, making one of the most sought-after Porsches also one of the most exclusive."
That article is dated, and stale.

The news about 1.2 GT3RS production cycle and production numbers are already largely incorrect.

I guess we won't know the true numbers until production is complete but at least their talking about only a one year run. Additionally, four lap times all under 7 minutes makes this a pretty special car.

.1 RS has no engine problems, it’s the GT3

@joejenie are you going to be keeping your GT3 when your 3RS arrives?

No. I will be selling it. Would be happy to discuss. Decided I won't track it since I'm selling it the end of the year. It will probably have 2-3,000 miles. PM me if you have interest.

We won't know the true numbers after production is complete either.

Stand corrected...... "Other like models, the 911 GT3 RS or 911R for example, don't have this problem at all because despite sharing engine architecture, design differences mean they use different finger followers that come sans inclusions."

How cool to get a ride on the Ring in a .2 GT3RS with Kevin Estre!

Imagine having a .2 GT3RS coming for ED and ride along with the guy that set the 6:56 hero laptimes and help a charity in the process.
I would have flown in for that!
