This is something I am surprised about, TBH. Most GT cars never become high mileage machines yet Porsche still wants owners to follow a relatively long break-in period. This would have grandma driving account for a non-trivial percentage of the lifetime mileage. Which we all know mostly does not happen especially with how often these cars change owners.

I'd love to see Porsche put assembled drivetrains on rigs to break them in however they want so the car is ready to be ran hard just off the lot. Hell, have them generate electricity for the plant. GT3s can do the initial charge on all those hybrids they're selling. It even keeps the greenies happy...

Being broken in would be nice. A limited jaguar i purchased came with engine and carbon brakes broken in already.
