Just as ChrisDM articulated below: exactly my line of thinking. Why pay another $3K for more weight, less appeal (to me), and certainly not a 'delta' in illumination that I can appreciate.

Plus, IIRC the LEDs may have a different light pattern / programming in the US vs Europe. As an example, I had to retrofit (via software) my LED lights on the F80 M3 30 Yahre to European spec. The 'anti-dazzle' feature in the BMW LEDs is disabled in the US because it has yet to be tested by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Doesn't matter that it has been successfully used in Europe - BMW cannot activate it on cars sold in the US. But aftermarket tuners can
The looks/weight I did consider could be the reason for skipping the LEDs. Though, I still like both the looks and functionality of the LEDs.

I do not know about 2RS dealer margins. As far as allocations, assuming GT2 builds stop in February which is what I have been told repeatedly, what your SA stated makes sense. My end Feb build locked last week.

FYI, so I found out (take it with a grain of salt) that the dealer margin for GT cars is ~ 21k +/-; not the 10% of base and 15% of options.

I was told with fairly good reliability that AT MSRP the GT car is the worst margin to any dealer of all the cars they sell. That is comparing MSRP to MSRP. Not comparing an ADM GT car to a below MSRP Macan. .

So as a %, the dealer makes more on a Macan than a GT (both at MSRP)?

I've said it before, GT cars offer the lowest margins for PAG of the entire lineup.

Yet those are most of the 911 cars that they build. Porsche knows where the demand is and they produce to it. Think about how many 911s would be lingering around the dealer showrooms if they build more non-GT 911s instead of more GT cars. It'll be the same case with the GT4 vs the 718 cars.

Hope your friend didn't pay a huge ADM on the 2RS because he'll lose that too.
