There is very little value add at PCNA; that is why the pay is so poor at PCNA. No engineering, de minimis product planning. They are the North American distributor of a German product.

and Porsche care even more, their customers are brand afficionados forgetting
almost everything (including a damn plastic fuel cap in a 200k car...)
the occasional buyer would kill them as happening to the Audi R8/+ market way under msrp and with brand intervening putting a lot of optionals for free
dealer and brand loosing margins together for having a non afficionados customers pool scary a lot porsche top management you can be sure and they will help to fix it (or won t if you like paying ADMs..)

While the ADM is too much for me and it’s not my color, I’m a little perturbed that my SA didn’t make me aware of this car.

I know a reasonable number of people who have worked in a variety of functional roles at several OEMs
As for Porsche in particular, I am from Atlanta and know quite a few people who work - or have worked - at PCNA. Some I know personally, some I know through dealings with the company or with the race teams
I know this fellow - http://press.porsche.com/more_about/...oosthuizen.php - through my longstanding passion for Porsche Motorsport, and I saw him several times this year in Porsche's hospitality setup (most recently at COTA and Road Atlanta). He has told me in the past what type of pay cut I would expect if I were interested in working for them.
I also have an ex IB/PE friend who is in B school currently; he interviewed at PCNA and passed on pursuing an opportunity further when told what type of comp he could expect in a finance role.

It wasn’t $207k that’s for sure.
