It's all a racket. Said dealer sells a GT car to a "good" customer at MSRP. Said dealer(s) then earns his "good guy" dealer status. Then said dealer gets the car back with "delivery" or "low" miles and marks the crap out of it to what they say is "market value". Said dealer and seller then share in the profit. The routine continues onto the next GT car. All the while these same folks post over and over again how they are getting their GT cars at MSRP and they are their dream cars etc etc etc. Problem is with this practice we get a bunch of iffy specced cars and the real drivers have to select from the built ones already.
Whereas if these so called "good guy" dealers actually just sold to people that actually want to drive and track the cars they would get thread after thread and post after post with those drivers sharing the experience and story of that great dealer. Instead you just see a bunch of marked up GT3's for sale.

People who flip and play the game (scratch my back scratch yours and get the next allocation) call them good guys. They are the same. All the ads say we just acquired this car with 130 miles and now offering for 21K over. just call it what it is - we are in this game to maximize profit.

It just occurred to me (maybe I am slow) that we talk about trying go "build a relationship" with your dealer and playing games/politics to try and scratch each other's back in such a way that you both feel like you get rewarded adequately. Sad because what should be happening is the dealer doing whatever it takes to work on building a relationship with you the customer
Spot on. There are no good guy dealers. They are all out to maximize profit. Now by no means do I hold that agains them. More power to them for doing what the market allows. However instead of whining and bitching about it, vote with your wallet. Just buy another car, buy a used car- tons of options. I just don't get worked up over this stuff. Dealers, stealers etc - meh. who cares. Ill just find the car I want to buy and buy it. If I don't want ADM- plenty of options not to do so.

But who can blame people for trying to break even on their investment after 12 months of ownership? I know a lot of people who sadly are in the same boat and they are only trying to get their money back.
