Now, I just can't decide whether having a Carmine Red (6MT, buckets, PCCB) GT4 in the garage as well is massive overkill...I sure know what the wife thinks....

Nice, congrats. From a NorCal dealer?

Thanks! It's from a SoCal dealer, and I'll be driving it up the coast in celebration. Choosing the route with the most varied rev range requirements for break-in, of course

Montana LLC probably not a good option considering he's in California.
in 2004 I bought a GT3 from a guy in Hunting Beach Cali
and he had the plates in Montana plates, it was 2 months old and he was buying a Fcar. Mortgage broker. I think he drives a Kia now.

some states are starting to wise up and cracking down on this process. Montana itself is also starting to come around to realizing the potential revenue lost.

I though Porsche ADMs were bad, I contacted McKenna VW about a Golf R they have in stock, $40k car, and they said that they want a $15k ADM!! I nearly choked I laughed so hard. A 37.5% ADM on a car that other dealers are discounting to sell! What a bunch of dbags.

They must think that the R stands for RAPING the customer. McKenna is a horrible stealership.

They are dirtbags, even if they're just asking. They'll probably tell you there's no other R's around. I had a VW dealer tell me that years ago on a Jetta TDI Wagon. I found one the next day at the next closest dealer.

BTW, the Golf R is an amazing car. I've spent a lot of time driving one and loved it!

Yeah there are only a few 17’s left, but I got one. Under sticker. And the ‘18s are on the way. They’re looking to take advantage of someone who is uninformed. Incredibly douchey.

I have seen an ADM structured as a support payment for the dealer's racing team. No sales tax collected (and in CA no less). But not a p-car dealership.

I bought mine from McKenna back in November of 2018. Didn't hear much bad press....until recently.

I did pay a higher than average ADM (and yes, sales tax on top of that), but they also had a car specced the way I wanted. Probably dumb to most people, but I was really a fan of those color matched lower moldings and other small things. I saw almost no other dealer specced cars with those. I almost bought a Miami Blue one there right before mine popped up at a lower ADM (it was a manual, but no leather or anything else really).

They have treated me well so far I think. The whole "relationship" thing isn't really a big deal to me since I don't consider myself a VIP or even an overly wealthy customer. I had to save for years to buy this car vs other people who walk in, point, and say "I'll take that one" which I assume is common in Porsche dealerships. So my ADM was purely for me. If they offered me first pick at some million dollar supercar in the future, I couldn't afford it anyway.
