Exactly. The nearest gas station at Highplains Raceway is 30mi. With my Cayman and C4S I could not make it through a track day without refueling. So I either had to drive 30mi each way to get gas, pay $8.00 a gallon for racing fuel, or bring my own. The 23 gallon tank in the GT3 will probably make it the entire day without refueling.

4.0’s sucks the tank dry in about 85-95 miles, or about an hour or two sessions.
Under indicated 30 Miles to Empty is only a quarter tank or so on the needle but you get limp mode in the 991.1RS.

It used to be undoable with a small tank. With the 997 4.0 I had to come off the track and go to fuel up every single session.

SC numbers are really high too. I thought people hated the wart.

I was surprised by the SC number and along with the Bose too. There’s few comments stating that the car was too loud and Bose is just a waste of money. The stat is a really good revelation on how the majority feel about certain options.

personally I'm not getting the Bose for "sound quality" - I'm getting so that the system works at all - the normal stereo isn't beefy enough to overcome the ambient noise of a GT3 on the freeway - the Bose has enough "umph" to still be able to hear it at 75 mph on a Bay Area freeway

sound quality is not the issues and I agree it's a waste - but sound amplification is a whole other story.

How do these numbers compare to previous gen production runs?

There are total of 2008 991.1 GT3 imported to NA.

2014 (548 cars), 2015 (1251 cars), 2016 (209 cars)

I think the .2 number will be a lot higher. A few month back our best source guessmated the first round of allocations with production date through the end of 2017 were only around 300-400 cars. And right now OP already found 560 cars and we still have two more month to go.

Maybe close to 1000 car for NA through end of 2017 and perhaps another 1500-2000 cars produced for NA by end of 2018?

The number of sport chrono clocks and PCCB's is surprising.
Looks like a lot of expensive builds out there. Any idea what the average MSRP is?
I imagine a low-spec 'stripper' will be quite rare!

RealityGT 10-20-2017 02:52 PM

I wonder how many are dealer builds.. they seem quite loaded with options..

Agree, I am getting the Bose for the amp power and the subwoofer. In terms of sound quality, it will still be crap.

If you believe .2 production will be higher than .1, then you have to believe 1. Porsche expands production > 18 GT cars a day and/or 2. Porsche continues production past Dec. 2018.

I don't think .2 will be higher. I think this has more to do with getting North American cars out the factory to make way for GT2RS and possibly GT3RS and upcoming GT4. The information we don't have is European, Asian or Middle Eastern production and I know for a fact Dubai and Abu Dhabi have received a bunch, Europe's had them for a few months now etc.

We will keep tracking until we can't find any more VINs.

Well I got the Bose for the reason below.

I didn't think any of them were dealer builds. These should all be customer-ordered no?

I'd agree, based on demand.

ipse dixit 10-20-2017 10:52 PM

The aversion to PCCBs (track or otherwise) and the SC is really just a Rennlist phenomena.

There's a whole wide world out there of non-Rennlist people.

BillNye 10-21-2017 12:11 AM

Is it also possible to know what dealers they are destined for? I might take my alt route to work if there's a chance there will be one in the showroom.
