My dealer in Atlanta sells 60 a year and their are 2 dealers in town, so about 120 cars just in one city....I did get mine at MSRP...

Congratulations Andrew on both your GT3 and MSRP deal!
Not to be the bearer of bad news just read about two 991.2 engine failures; one in Sweden and one in the UK. Both new cars and the UK owner had 260 miles when the engine failed.

There's one in Canada too. That was the only one I'd heard of until seeing mention of these two here.

Hopefully, Porsche will adjust fire and correct the issue on yet to be produced 991.2s. Mine enters the body shop on the 13th of July and not sure if the issue extends to 3RSs as well.

I'm honestly not sure there's any issue to be corrected. 3 engines out of the thousands produced is probably normal. Even if we add 10 more we'll never hear about. It's not enough to worry me yet. They all seem to be going pretty early on in their lifespan.
I've got over 5k km's on mine now and not a hiccup and she hasn't exactly been babied.

If I have a VIN, is there anyway to check where the car is at this moment? It was built two weeks ago and I am interested in knowing more about the shipping process. My dealer won't receive any info until the car arrives in the country. But somewhere someone has to know where the cars are, right?

Also, if you're super bored, you can watch as your ship crosses the Panama canal locks.

Dealer can tell you when your car left the port of Emden and when it's supposed to arrive at your local port. Dealer can also give you the name of the ship, but that 's about it. From there, you can Google the ship on maritime sites for its location.

(sorry for not making that clear earlier )
Yes, I have now found out that the dealer will get info once it's loaded onto the boat, even for the Sweden-bound cars. But it's the trip from Zuffenhausen to the harbour that is blind at the moment.

Ha - that would really freak me out since I am in Sweden...
