this is really interesting and an amazing project by the guys, even for us Brits! - suppose no further granularity on what the exact PTS colours built are?
GT3 DOESN'T MAKE ANY MONEY FOR PORSCHE AND EACH ONE SELLS AT A LOSS SO WHY WOULD THEY MAKE SO MANY OF THESE $150K-$200K 911S. THEY WILL LOSE SO MUCH MONEY ON THIS. THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY UNICORN TEARS TO GO AROUND.

Porsche does not make any money on the GT3 - LOL.
Since Wendelin Wiedeking the rule is that any car must be profitable - Period.
Yep yep. Poking fun at the folks who often suggest Porsche doesn't make money on these cars, or doesn't sell enough of them to matter, etc. GT3s are a big part of Porsche's bottom line.
Loess continues to kill it with the data and Porsche didn't produce as many GT3's as in past months but almost breaking the 1,000 vehicle mark for North America! New data below.
Some standouts:
1. We are now up to 24 Paint to Sample cars
2. Up to 10 Touring Spec cars (all Touring are U.S. cars, none for Canada yet). None of the Touring are Paint to Sample...yet.
3. Manual vs. PDK is as close as its ever been...can't we all just get along?
4. Canada continues to receive more than anticipated with 172 cars of 998 - approaching 20%!
My gut feel is they will crank as many as they possibly can (i.e. production logistics allowing), especially early on in the cycle while this is still the only GT car in production. In 2018 we will likely see less monthly volumes with the RS (and potentially GT4/RS as rumored) sharing the 'conveyor belt'. Time will tell of course, with a possibility of US production surpassing Euro EOP dates given different regulatory impact across jurisdictions.
