Will 997 GT3 cost more than 991.1 GT3 5 years from now???
WARNING: If you don't like hypothetical value threads, quit reading, click "back" and move on..... don't hang around here and whine like a 4th grade girl... Not every thread is for everyone....know when to say when.
And yes, if there was a sub-forum on value (which is a good idea IMO) I would have posted this there.
Topic came up in discussion the other day with a broker friend:
"Will the 997 GT3 MT being selling for more than the 991.1 GT3 five years down the road?"

The definition of a classic car is usually one that's more than 25 years old. I think around that time is often when cars that are an excellent low-mileage condition begin to accelerate in value. So I think it will take another 15 years not 5 before the 997 outpaces the 991 GT3 in value.
Having said all that I plan on driving my 997 GT3 into the ground as a daily driver. Value be damned

The 992 GT3 will have an impact, depending on if the motor is N/A and if a manual continues to be offered.
5 years seems to soon. 10-15 years from now the 997.2 will be much more of a collector car.

why would 997 ever be more valuable than a 991? 993 as last air cooled, yes but 997, no. 991 is better car and 997 has nothing special to claim esp since clutch pedal is back.

With the engine issues that plagued 991.1, I expect the values to continue to drop. There are already cars sitting around 120-130k. They will continue to drop. For majority of people who can afford a 130k car, they can also afford 150k. No one in their right mind would choose 991.1 over 991.2 for saving 20k. I know I wouldnt
Now talk about a gt3 for 100k or less, now thats a different market all together that attracts whole bunch of people.
