Exactly right. Many on here actively advocate for raising the price to curb demand- geniuses.

And a standard C2S is far less a $140,000 car than the GT3 is a $200k car. And a 570S, with all it's nits, is not a $230,000 car. These cars are all significantly 'overpriced'. IMO, one then has to consider them in relative terms, rather than absolute terms like you would an Audi RS5 or BMW M4.

Anyways, I'm not too in tune with what people are paying for these things so I wanted to ask for your opinion.

Here's what dealer said - "I have an available GT3 allocation we are selling at the current market value of MSRP plus 35K. Let me know if you would like to take this allocation."

Deal, no deal? is this the going price?

Any help appreciated, I'd love to get my order in if this is a fair deal in todays market. Thanks!!!
Just find a dealer that will sell at MSRP, get on their list and put a deposit. You will get a car next year because when the hype slows and people see they can't flip them then they drop off the list and you move up. I have never bought a new Porsche and I got on a list in CA with a dealer at MSRP. I moved up 10 spots in 2 months and I have a feeling they are going to be calling me in sooner than I think to do the final configuration.

I went to another dealer down the street and they gave me the same runaround you got about market price crap. It's all inflated, they know Porsche's is going to try to fill every order they can for GT3's so
They are trying to get as much ADM as they can in the short run. If you want to jump up the list and get a car sooner then you might have to pay a small premium.

Don't give up.

I agree with waiting. Just keep calling and putting your name on a few lists for low or no ADM. You might even find the perfect barely used one a year from now. ADM capitalizes on the “gotta have it now” crowd. There’s more than plenty of time to watch the market shake out.

I had a 2015 6MT F80 a while back too. Did ED with it and raced it at Spa and the Nurburgring. It’s a wonderful car. Keep driving it until the right car comes along.

Overpriced if they sell?

Really? Some builds are $180-$185K. Add tax, title, plates, dealer prep, etc. You're right there...

Sure, if you want to start checking all the boxes and doing CXX options you'll get to around $200k but if you stick to the must-haves you'll be well under $200k even with sales tax. You'll have spare change for a lot of track goodies too.

It's true though that the delta between the civilian Porsches and the GT3 seems way too tight.

Judging by the sales numbers, the square Porsches are too much money for the car, and the GT3 is too much car for the money.

Data on this forum suggests the average order price to be in the $180’s. Per the previous post, taxes, lic, etc that makes the average price with no ADM around $200k with a long list of people wanting this too expensive car. Including myself we must all be pretty stupid.

My MSRP is $170k. But with tax (9.03% + Gas Guzzler), registration ($3400 in Colorado ), full clear bra ($4500), and tint ($500), I'm at $195K before I even get to drive the damn thing.

Edit: To be fair I'm only paying half the sales tax due to the value of my trade-in, but otherwise it would have been $195K out the door.

Throw in the games and BS to get one at MSRP plus the prices of really nice .1RS’ coming down and I think I would rather have an even more limited RS.

The difference between the wholesale (what dealer gives you) and retail value of your trade probably approximates the sales tax, so it's really a push.

In other words, you will be in the same position if you sold it on your own (at retail) and paid sales tax on the entire purchase price of your new Porsche. It may be easier to trade in your old vehicle, but you're not realizing a wind-fall.

Does it? As far as I know dealers usually bid the trade-ins way below 9% off retail price, more like 20% or worse.
