This again?

And Gretch hasn't lock it yet?

When is Martin going to start threatening to ban members again?

OR
I've had two friends get caught not registering in their home state. They weren't doing the Montana shuffle, they just moved and didn't want to pay the local fees. In both cases, single cop saw the car with out of state plates in the same place for months. Finally pulled them over and wrote them up for not registering the car in the State within the mandated period. Both paid a fine and penalties. All related to the car registration, not FTB stuff. One was in Tx and one was in Ca.

It's a car forum - what's up with the attacks.

When you form an LLC and the LLC then owns the car, finding insurance is an issue. Total PITA in my opinion, not worth it. Buy another home in a tax friendly state, or pay the taxes. Don't think you always want to be looking over your shoulder. Not worth it.

Some people just can't mind their own business apparently. Never knew why there were some people who were so butthurt on what I do and how I do it.

He thinks the all money is the governments and they are just letting us keep a bit for ourselves. Typical.

Yeah because he thinks they might actually do something tangible with those funds other than fund the nimby pension black hole. We got our own version of the Social Justice Warriors on here. haha

It’s legal when you have duel residency I kept a car in NY for 5 years until I was fed up with driving. I have a home in GA, and a place in the city, and all my cars have GA plates. You can’t carry a license in two states, but it’s legal for me to drive in NY with GA plates because I have a Ga license.

Entirely different situation. These people were living and licensed locally, but driving a car registered in another state.

Yup got it ...not sure how a cop would know who lives where unless you went to court. I see guys here in ATL do it .....the ones I know it’s tax fraud as they have no real LLC.

Same deal for me...I have a home in CA and NV and I travel between the 2 regularly. I have cars registered in CA, NV, and MT and all of them get driven in CA and NV at some point. Never got why people love getting into other's people business on a car forum.
