Oil leak in strange places?

Oil leak in strange places?
Hi all,
Mine's a 2014 GT3. Replacement engine prior to delivery and rebuilt engine. But enjoying it.
This morning, going out for a drive, I noticed a thin film of black dirt (which is what I thought) on the right side (facing car from the rear) of the rear window pane up against the body of the car.
Looked at it and wiped some of it off and I think it's oil. Strange. I haven't filled oil in the GT3 for months, but recently I do get a oil overfill light come on, which I've ignored. Still, even so, I shouldn't be seeing oil here?
Other side is clean as a whistle. Thoughts?

Took another look - it seems to be all around. On the left side, the black gunk was higher up and around the rounded corner of the glass. I'm thinking it is some sort of gunk or residue built up over time. Will continue to investigate
